BVRMC invites community members and partners to attend a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, May 5 at 12:15 p.m. outside of the hospital main entrance.

The ceremony will mark the beginning of construction on BVRMC’s new medical office building, an exciting project that underscores BVRMC’s commitment to advancing health care services and strengthening care for the region.

From double vision to seeing clearly again, Diane Blake is grateful for the care she received at BVRMC’s Oncology & Infusion Center.

After noticing changes in her vision, Diane trusted her instincts and sought care, leading to a diagnosis of thyroid eye disease.

Thanks to infusion treatments at BVRMC, Diane is now seeing more clearly than she has in years.

“After my very first infusion, within 10 days, I could see perfectly,” Blake said.

Thank you, BVRMC Volunteers! 💙

BVRMC hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Event in April at the Harker House to thank the many helping hands who make a difference in the hospital every day.

In 2025, over 2,300 volunteer hours were donated to BVRMC. Whether volunteering their time assisting in various ways at the hospital or donating their talents to create items used by patients, volunteers play an integral part at BVRMC.

Community support continues to make a meaningful impact at BVRMC. 💙

The Buena Vista Regional Healthcare Foundation recently hosted its annual Life Saver Reception to recognize and thank the donors who made this year’s campaign a success. Their generosity funded the purchase of a Blood Analyzer for our laboratory, an essential piece of technology that supports patient care across nearly every department.

Although often unseen by patients, laboratory testing plays a vital role in guiding clinical decisions, supporting everything from emergency care to ongoing treatment. During the event, attendees had the opportunity to learn more about how this equipment will strengthen care for our patients and community.

We are grateful to our donors for investing in local health care and helping ensure high quality care remains close to home!

Join us in welcoming Rachel Ihde, ARNP, to UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine – Buena Vista! 🎉

Rachel brings 23 years of nursing experience and specializes in chronic disease management, including diabetes, heart failure and COPD. She grew up in Pocahontas and is passionate about helping patients understand their health and feel confident in their care.

Outside of work, she enjoys shopping, playing the piano and clarinet, and spending time with her three children.

Non-emergency hospital phones are currently experiencing issues with incoming and outgoing calls not going through due to a system-wide issue with our carrier, Long Lines.

This outage may also impact Long Lines customers trying to call 911 using a landline phone.
