World Cancer Day is a reminder to come together to take action against cancer. Today, we honor those we’ve lost, support those living with cancer and raise awareness about prevention, early detection and the power of compassionate care.

Our Oncology team is honored to care for patients with compassion, strength and support every step of the way. Every story matters, and together, we can make a difference. 💜

Saving lives does not stop when the shift ends. 🚑

For more than 35 years, BVRMC advanced emergency medical technician Dave Patton has been a dedicated blood donor, recently reaching an incredible 15-gallon milestone with LifeServe Blood Center.

Through generous donations to the Buena Vista Regional Healthcare Foundation, BVRMC has acquired a new tuberculosis (TB) testing analyzer that allows testing to be performed in-house, providing faster and more accurate results for patients.

Having local testing allows the care team to better manage the testing process, reduce delays, and guide patient care more quickly, supporting BVRMC’s ongoing work to deliver high-quality care close to home.

BVRMC announces the most popular baby names chosen by families in 2025, reflecting a mix of familiar favorites and creative spelling variations.

Among baby girls born at BVRMC in 2025, Eliany/Ailany ranked as the most popular name. Other frequently chosen girl names included Madison/Maddison, Lety/Lettie, and Rorie/Rori, highlighting a trend toward personalized spellings.

For baby boys, Mateo/Matteo led the list of popular names for the second consecutive year. Additional popular choices included Kayden/Kaiden and Liam/Lyam, each reflecting parents’ creativity with spelling while honoring well-loved names.

The name Angel appeared as a popular choice for both girls and boys in 2025.

“It’s always exciting to see the names families choose for their babies,” said Jeanette Todd, BVRMC Director of Obstetrics. “We continue to see parents add their own unique touch to traditional names through spelling, while still selecting names that feel familiar and meaningful.”

The 2025 baby name trends reflect the individuality and diversity of families throughout the BVRMC community.
