🌟 Resident of the Month: Wayne Johnson 🌟
Meet Wayne Johnson! Born on November 29th, 1949, in Des Moines, Iowa, Wayne grew up in Ankeny with two older sisters and his twin brother, who, as Wayne loves to remind everyone, is four minutes younger.
Wayne graduated from Ankeny High School in 1968 and earned a degree in Speech and Theater from Grand View Junior College in 1970. He went on to study Portrait Photography at Hawkeye Community College, graduating in 1972.
Wayne began his photography career at a Des Moines studio and later worked at Noble Photography in Harlan, Iowa. It was there he met his wife, Helen, and they were married on February 12, 1978. For their first anniversary, they fulfilled a dream by opening their own studio, Memory Lane Photography. Over the years, they welcomed two children and captured countless special moments in their community. Wayne ran his studio for 23 years before merging with LifeTouch in 2001, where he worked until retiring 17 years later.
Wayne joined the Bethany Life family in March of this year and quickly became an active member of our community. You can find him spending time with friends in Charlene’s House, showing off his skills at trivia (his favorite), joining the men’s group, playing cribbage with Pastor Dave, or singing at karaoke. When he’s not busy, he enjoys visits with his pup, Batman, and spending time with Helen as they approach their 48th wedding anniversary this February.
When asked what he loves most about Bethany Life, Wayne said, “It really feels like one big family here.” We couldn’t agree more and are so grateful to have Wayne as part of our Bethany Life family. ❤️
