November is all about being thankful for those around us, and for the veterans who have served our country. Today, we're proud to spotlight Adjuto, our dedicated Facilities Supervisor.

Since joining Tempus in April of 2017, Adjuto has been behind everything building-related, keeping our workdays running smoothly behind the scenes. Before his time with Tempus, Adjuto served in the United States Marine Corps from 2009 to 2012. One lesson that stayed with him from his service is "always leave a place better than you found it" - a motto he continues to use through his work and leadership.

When asked about his favorite part of the job, Adjuto shared: "Seeing the change we make as an agency with the consumers we support."

There was so much to celebrate yesterday! 💛🎂🍂

We are so grateful to all of our consumers who joined us for a fall gathering and enjoyed a delicious lunch together. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and laughter shared.

We also had the extra joy of celebrating TWO special birthdays! Bringing people together to create lasting memories and enjoy genuine time together is what makes these days so meaningful!

Scott Clements had his entire future planned out. He expected to attend college on a full track scholarship and pursue a career as a physical therapist. But everything changed one night during his senior year of high school when Scott suffered a life-altering accident. While walking home, he was struck by a car and sustained a traumatic brain injury that required months of hospitalization and rehabilitation...

Despite his many challenges, he refused to give up. Today, he is the proud owner of Clements Painting, LLC. A company he built entirely from the ground up.

His journey is a powerful reminder that determination can grow into new beginnings. 🎨🖌

Geoffrey, one of our Physical Therapists, attended the world-renowned Head of the Charles Regatta - the largest two-day rowing event in the world! 🏆

At this year’s Regatta, Geoffrey worked alongside Andrew Mangan, a para-athlete competing with able-bodied rowers. At 16 years old, Andrew was paralyzed from the neck down after a spinal cord injury, he has since regained enough mobility to return to rowing as an adaptive sculler. Andrew comes from a strong rowing family, his parents and three older brothers all rowed in high school and college, and his sister is a two-time Olympian in Alpine skiing.

As a lifelong athlete, Andrew enjoys biking, kitesurfing, skiing, and spending time with his siblings. He credits family friend and mentor John Offut, an avid rower and cyclist who emphasized the power of movement, for helping him adapt to the sports he loved.

Now working with his brother on a startup called Promptloop AI, Andrew continues to train and compete, driven by his belief that attitude shapes outcome. Racing against the Charles River’s fast current, he showed that determination — not circumstance — defines the athlete.

Our Frank Bellotti, Jr. Wellness Center offers the opportunity for consumers to improve health and wellness through physical activity in a safe, friendly, and fully accessible space.

A personal trainer provides individual 1-on-1 support to consumers who use Tempus Unlimited Community Services programs to assist with their personal health and fitness goals. Featuring a variety of fully accessible machines, consumers are able to follow a weekly supervised fitness routine under the guidance of trained staff.

Eligibility for the Wellness center includes any participant involved with Tempus Community Service programs.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month!

This month highlights the valuable contributions of workers with disabilities to the American workforce and promotes inclusive, supportive employment practices.

"This yearly event began in 1945 as a weeklong national observance of the contributions of people with physical disabilities. In 1988, Congress designated the commemoration as NDEAM, which then evolved to acknowledge the importance of increasing opportunities for people with disabilities, including those with mental health conditions and other nonobvious disabilities, in the workforce."
