As we head into Halloween week, let’s remember: mental health is real, personal, and often invisible.

Costumes are temporary—but the impact of stigma can last.

Let’s choose empathy, not stereotypes.

Today, we hosted our final Professionals’ Experience of the year! It was such a pleasure connecting with this wonderful group of clinicians and giving them a behind-the-scenes look at the heart of Sana.

We’ll be taking a short break until the new year, but we’re already looking forward to welcoming more professionals in 2026!

At Sana at Stowe, we integrate acupuncture as a powerful healing modality to support clients in restoring balance, reducing stress, and promoting overall well-being. 🪡✨

This centuries-old practice is designed to alleviate painful and chronic physical symptoms such as headaches, back pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, asthma, and osteoarthritis, while also supporting mental health concerns like depression, anxiety, and high stress levels. In addition to individual sessions, we often offer group acupuncture, creating a shared space for connection, relaxation, and collective healing.

Food and nutrition are very important to us at Sana, and we’re proud to have a dedicated in-house kitchen team that prepares fresh, farm-to-table meals for our clients.

We’re thrilled to share that 100% of our clients reported being satisfied with the food we serve—compared to a 62.4% national average. That’s 37.6% above the standard, reflecting the care and intention we put into every part of the healing experience.

Meet Nash, Therapist at Sana!

Originally from central New Jersey, Nash has called Vermont home for a while now. With a B.A. in Music Therapy from Hampshire College and an M.S.W. from NYU, he’s passionate about addressing socioeconomic disparities in mental healthcare. At Sana, Nash focuses on building strong client relationships and resilient communities, bringing a holistic, client-centered approach to support each person’s unique recovery journey. When he’s not at work, you’ll find him walking in nature, biking the Burlington bike path, gardening, swimming in Lake Champlain, or strumming his guitar.

In collaboration with Basis24, Sana at Stowe is gathering meaningful data to better understand and enhance our clients’ recovery experiences. While the findings are still early, initial insights into substance use improvement are encouraging.

Today, we’re spotlighting substance use to share how we use data to inform care that is thoughtful, responsive, and tailored to each individual’s journey.

Partnering with Basis24, Sana at Stowe is monitoring key outcomes to better understand and support our clients’ recovery journeys. While these findings are preliminary, early data in the depression and functioning categories are showing promising results.

Today, we’re highlighting depression and functioning to share a valuable glimpse into how we measure and respond to the needs of those we serve. By collecting and analyzing this data, we’re able to provide care that is informed, intentional, and aligned with each client’s unique experience.

"Treatment must ask, 'What need is the substance meeting?'"

This question shifts the focus from judgment to curiosity—and opens the door to real healing. As a therapist, we have the opportunity to be the first earned secure attachment in our clients’ lives.

When we approach their pain with compassion rather than correction, we model a new way of being in relationship—one rooted in safety, connection, and regulation. That’s where lasting change begins.

This quote is from Max Crystal, Sana's Clinical Director, shared during our recent webinar Understanding Substance Use Disorders Through the Lens of Attachment Theory." Watch the whole webinar here: https://ecs.page.link/7CgnN
