Today was a pivotal moment for Connecticut's cannabis industry.
I had the privilege of hosting State Representative MJ Shannon for a delivery ride-along with Cody from Cannabis Connection Delivery, departing from our partner Budr Cannabis Stratford facility. This wasn't just another day of operations—it was an opportunity to bridge the gap between our industry and the legislators who shape our future.
Too often, regulatory conversations happen in conference rooms, disconnected from the real-world operations they govern. Today, we changed that. Rep. Shannon experienced firsthand our delivery protocols, safety measures, and the complexities we navigate daily. More importantly, I was able to share the genuine challenges we face as cannabis entrepreneurs in Connecticut—the regulatory hurdles, compliance costs, and operational realities that don't always make it into policy discussions.
Here's what I believe: When we advocate for change at the Capitol, the people making those decisions NEED to understand what they're legislating. Theory and practice are two very different things. By inviting our legislators into our world, we create informed policymakers who can craft regulations that are both protective and practical.
Rep. Shannon's willingness to spend time with us, ask questions, and truly listen gives me hope for the future of our industry in Connecticut. This is how progress happens—through dialogue, transparency, and shared understanding.
Thank you to Rep. Shannon for your time and commitment to understanding our industry. Thank you to Cody and the entire Cannabis Connection Delivery team for your professionalism. And thank you to BUDR for being a facility we're proud to showcase.
Let's keep these conversations going. 🌱
