Breaking barriers, Subreen Dari, of Cleveland, Ohio will be the first female to represent Palestine in an international weightlifting competition. This is an historic achievement of the participation of a Palestinian woman in the weightlifting sport. Potentially preparing Dari for the Olympics in 2024 will require the creation of a movement and an effort to elevate the Palestinian women's position and expand their participation in all the spheres.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas praised Dari and the Palestinian team’s weightlifting performance and its readiness to represent Palestine in the future in the Global weightlifting competition. The Palestinian Weightlifting Federation (PWF) was established in 1952, and Dari will be the first female to represent the organization on an international level.
