Sweet Treats and Strong Partnerships

Today, The Arc at Streator dropped off Cocoa Cookie Cups to our Assisted Living, Supportive Living, and Independent Living partners as a token of appreciation.

Honoring Our Heroes at The Arc at Streator

We are proud to share that The Arc at Streator holds the great honor of being the only VA-certified long-term care facility within our company — home to over a dozen service men and women who have bravely served our country.

Today, we were privileged to host a flag pinning ceremony sponsored by Vitas Hospice and Palliative Care, presided over by Major William Gaefke, U.S. Army veteran and former Chief of Police of Ladd, Illinois.

Following the ceremony, Dig Doug's BBQ & Catering of Streator graciously catered a private luncheon, on their day off! Residents and guests enjoyed local favorites including pulled pork, mac and cheese, and BBQ baked beans, and it was a huge hit.

A special thank-you also goes out to the Streator students who created heartfelt thank-you cards for our veteran residents. Your kindness and creativity made the day even more meaningful.

Fall Giving at The Arc at Streator

We’ve had a beautiful turnout for the first week of our Food Drive here at The Arc at Streator! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, your generosity is already making a difference.
Our grounds are absolutely stunning this time of year, and we’re entering fall with hearts full of gratitude, strong community support, and a shared commitment to helping our neighbors in need.

Helping Hands for Streator — Food & Coat Drive

The Arc at Streator is partnering with our friends at Hollybrook, Evergreen, and Liberty Village for a two-month-long Community Food Drive with one goal in mind — ensuring no one in Streator goes hungry.

As the SNAP/EBT program faces reductions beginning November 1st, our teams are joining forces to fill our local food pantry and support families in need.

Food Drive: November 1 – December 31
Drop Off Location: The Arc at Streator
Items Needed: Nonperishable, family-friendly foods such as cereal, pasta, canned fruit and vegetables, sauces, oatmeal, rice, and beans.

But that’s not all — we’re also hosting a Gently Used Coat Drive to help keep our neighbors warm this winter.

Coat Drive: November 1 – December 1
Drop Off Location: The Arc at Streator (box located in the Activity Office)

Items Needed: Gently used coats (sizes Large–3XL especially), and new hats and gloves.
Together, we can make a real difference this season — because community means caring for one another. 💛

We had a spooktacular time celebrating Halloween here at The Arc at Streator! Residents and staff enjoyed a fun-filled party with plenty of treats, laughter, and creativity.

Trunk or Treat Fun at The Arc at Streator!

We had such a spooktacular time celebrating Trunk or Treat with our residents, families, and community! The costumes were creative, the candy was plentiful, and the smiles were contagious.

A huge thank-you to everyone who joined in on the fun and helped make this year’s event such a success, we can’t wait to do it again next Halloween!

Today was all about creativity and color as our residents painted pumpkins — each one with its own unique design and personality!

We’re already looking forward to next week’s Pumpkin Painting Contest!

Our staff will vote on the residents’ pumpkins, and our residents will get to vote on the staff’s pumpkins — how fun is that?!

🥗 Lunch Delivery to SEMC Peru Campus! 💙

Arc at Streator stopped by the SEMC Peru Campus to deliver lunch to the amazing Case Management Team!

Peru has now become the central “hub” for the region as SEMC Ottawa transitions its care to other facilities in preparation for the new hospital build. Many of the dedicated case managers at Peru have transferred from Ottawa and continue to work tirelessly to support a complex community with compassion and care.

We appreciate everything they do to make a difference each day!
