In honor of Mardi Gras this February, Sherrod, a cook at Whitestone, treated our staff to his family's famous gumbo, and it was nothing short of amazing. Sherrod recently joined our team and is originally from Miami with deep Southern roots.
The incredible pots of gumbo were packed with rich flavor, tradition, and heart. Sherrod has spent years working in five-star restaurants, learning his craft from some of the best chefs, and it truly shows.
The roux alone takes about an hour to make continuously stirring. You could taste the pride, dedication and passion behind every spoonful. Thank you, Sherrod, for sharing your heritage, talent, and kindness with all of us. It was fantastic!
