A gentle reminder to be your biggest supporter. Although it is always nice to have, we do not have to *depend* on others to validate our decisions and experience. We can do that for ourselves. This is how we start to build confidence and feel more secure in ourselves.

What is a self-validating statement that you find to be the most powerful for you?

Take care of your mind and body. Love, Nawal ♥️

Challenges and struggles will always be a part of our lives, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t live the life that we desire. My role, as a Licensed Professional Counselor, is to help you work towards living a meaningful life while experiencing the challenges that may arise and offering support throughout this process. My aim is to provide a safe, comforting, and nonjudgmental atmosphere that will help encourage you to discuss these struggles.

To assist you in living the life that you desire, I will utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities such as acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and focus on a strengths based perspective. Above all, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is most important and will focus on creating and maintaining a strong alliance.

I have experience working with adults, teenagers, and children who have experienced a variety of difficulties. More specifically, I have experience working with substance abuse issues, depression, anxiety, and stress and anger management. I am also interested in working with body image issues.

John Miller, MS, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have spent my career providing both, mental health counseling and addiction counseling. While working in both outpatient mental health as well as intensive outpatient addictions counseling settings, I worked with both adolescents and adult clients. I also have experience working with clients referred by the criminal justice system. I received my master's degree in clinical and counseling psychology from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia.

I have extensive training in providing cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as extensive training in experiential therapy. I believe in working with the client on their strengths to help build a positive foundation.

I will work with the client at the pace that is most comfortable for the client in order to facilitate a safe place where healing can occur.

Jen J Allen, MS, CCTP, E-RYT 500

I approach mental health counseling from a strength based approach, helping clients to find balance and wellness by accessing and developing innate coping skills and strengths.

With close to three decades in the holistic arts as a yoga teacher/teacher trainer and traditional herbalist, I seek to treat the whole person with thoughtful and creative interventions. Academically, I received a BA in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and have my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I have additional professional training and certifications in trauma and substance abuse.

If necessary, I will utilize a somatic approach by including the body as a tool in treatment. I am known for my work in LGBT issues, drug and alcohol issues, anxiety and depression and existential/spiritual conflict.

Due to my somatic and mindfulness based approach I often work with dancers, artists, writers, musicians and other creative types.
