Using data from the Global Burden of Disease Study, researchers estimate that approximately 569.2 million people worldwide are living with one or more chronic respiratory diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, pneumoconiosis, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary sarcoidosis.
