Hormones, aging, and even everyday stress can impact hip flexibility and mobility, often leading to discomfort or tightness. For example, hormonal shifts (like those during menopause) can affect joint lubrication and elasticity, while aging may naturally reduce flexibility in connective tissues. Add in prolonged sitting or stress, and itโ€™s no surprise the hips start to feel stiff!

Here are 3 simple stretches to help keep those hips mobile and healthy:

1๏ธโƒฃ Hip Flexor Stretch: Start in a kneeling position with your right knee down and left foot forward. Lean forward slightly, tucking your pelvis under to stretch the hip flexor on your right side. Hold for 20โ€“30 seconds, then switch sides.

2๏ธโƒฃ Figure-4 Stretch: Lie on your back, cross your right ankle over your left knee, and gently pull your left leg toward your chest. Youโ€™ll feel a deep stretch in the outer hip and glute. Hold for 30 seconds, then switch sides.

3๏ธโƒฃ Butterfly Stretch: Sit on the floor, bring the soles of your feet together, and let your knees fall to the sides. Gently press your knees down with your elbows to deepen the stretch. Hold for 30 seconds.

Try adding these stretches to your daily routine to counteract the effects of aging, hormonal changes, and lifestyle habits that impact hip mobility.
