Have you wondered what the day-to-day life of a Clinical Trial Manager looks like at a global CRO? This week, we spoke with Casey Wagner – Manager, Clinical Trial Management of North America and Australia.

The conversation offered insight into:

• What a typical day looks like in the role as a Clinical Trial Manager
• Subtle but important differences in site engagement between Australia and North America
• How the Clinical Trial Manager role continues to evolve beyond traditional oversight

For sponsors, understanding how regional differences can impact and shape trial delivery can be critical when planning and executing global studies. We’ll be sharing more detailed insights next week.

What differences have you observed when working across these regions?

New blog article now live! April is Parkinson's Awareness Month and we're continuing the conversation following World Parkinson's Day on 11th April.

In 1817, Dr James Parkinson first described what he called the “shaking palsy.” Fast forward to 2026, and the scientific tools available to study Parkinson’s disease are far more advanced. Today, clinical trials in Parkinson’s are being transformed by wearable technology. The use of technology is helping clinicians passively monitor motor symptoms during daily activities offering insights outside of scheduled visits.

While clinical evaluation remains essential, wearables are helping to contextualise findings and uncover patterns that may have previously been difficult to detect, bringing us closer to more patient-centric trial design.

World Parkinson’s Day, occurs on April 11 each year, marking the birthday of Dr. Parkinson, who first recognized and described the disease in 1817. Many Parkinson's foundations, research organizations and patient alliance groups, patients and families are involved in commemorating this day with the aim of increasing awareness and understanding of Parkinson's.

Parkinson's disease is the fastest growing and second most prevalent neurodegenerative condition, affecting an estimated 11.8 million people worldwide. While a small percentage of Parkinson's cases are caused by genetic mutations, most Parkinson's has no specific etiology, but is thought to arise from a combination of genetic and environmental factors.

As a global CRO it is important to highlight the importance of research into neurological conditions. Rebecca Evans, MD (Senior Vice President, Neurology) recently wrote an article exploring how advances of biomarkers, digital tools and imaging could redefine how Parkinson’s disease trials are designed and conducted. (International Clinical Trials, November 2025, pages 40-42. © Samedan Ltd.)

Dr. Evans shares insight into how continued evolution in trial conduct, methodology and operational complexity is expected over the coming years and how this will impact trial design. Read more>> https://hubs.la/Q04brr410

Technology isn't just supporting clinical trials - it’s transforming how they’re delivered around the world.

We recently caught up with Alaina Dobos, Senior Clinical Trial Manager at Linical to explore what the next 5 years could look like. The direction is clear: smarter, faster, and more patient-centric trials. AI and decentralized clinical trials (DCTs) are driving the shift with the industry moving toward data-driven study design, and the impact is already being felt.

In a recent study, we implemented handheld eDiaries, enabling patients to record symptoms and medication adherence in real time from home. The result: improved data accuracy, increased patient engagement, and timely monitoring of safety signals.
