Dry needling may look simple, but it is a skilled, invasive technique. Proper training makes all the difference when it comes to safety and results 💯

Why training matters:
✔️ Requires advanced knowledge of anatomy, especially near sensitive areas like the neck and upper back
✔️ Reduces the risk of complications such as nerve irritation, excessive pain, or injury
✔️ Ensures precise needle placement based on tissue depth and structure
✔️ Emphasizes sterile technique and infection prevention
✔️ Supports safer, more effective, and personalized care

At Women’s Traditional Chinese Healing, dry needling is performed with intention, expertise, and patient safety in mind🙌

Q&A Time❓✨

Question: Does cupping therapy hurt?

Answer: Cupping therapy is generally not painful. Most people describe the sensation as a firm pulling or gentle pressure rather than pain. During treatment, you may feel warmth, tightness, or tingling as circulation improves. Some tenderness or temporary bruising (known as "cupping marks") may occur where the cups were applied, but these marks are painless and usually fade within a few days. A skilled practitioner will always adjust the suction strength to ensure your comfort throughout the session.

Our Story

Doctor Stuart Shipe graduated from North Dakota State University College of Pharmacy and has practiced as a pharmacist in various clinical, consulting and retail practice settings around Florida. He has a certification in Western herbal medicine from the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy, is a registered herbalist with the American Herbalists Guild, and has completed post graduate education in phytotherapy from the Australian College of Phytotherapy in Warwick Queensland. His interest in acupuncture led him to advanced studies. In 2002, Dr. Shipe graduated as an acupuncture physician from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine in Orlando. He completed postgraduate residency training at the International School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing, China and the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Shanghai. These studies in Chinese acupuncture advanced his understanding of eastern medicine. Dr. Shipe received diplomat training in clinical nutrition certified through the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon. This has provided him with a comprehensive knowledge of alternative medicine and natural healing.

He is nationally board-certified as an acupuncture physician and Chinese herbalist, practicing primary care medicine with specialties in geriatrics and women’s health at his office in Stuart, Florida using integrative medicine principles. He is the host of a weekly talk radio show on Florida’s Treasure Coast called “A Better Way to Health,” educating the public on natural and integrative medicine and holistic therapy. He also lectures for two international companies as a consultant on nutrition therapy and practice management for natural health practitioners.

To further his purpose of supporting pharmacists in expanding their potential, Dr. Shipe routinely provides continuing education lectures on natural medicine and holistic therapy and serves as a professor at NOVA Southeastern University College of Pharmacy in Davie, Florida.
