April is Alcohol Awareness Month
🚨 Did you know?
According to the Medical College of Wisconsin, alcohol kills more people each year than opioids.
Let that sink in.
While the opioid crisis rightfully gets attention, alcohol often flies under the radar—despite being one of the most widely used and socially accepted substances.
But the impact is real:
• Alcohol contributes to deaths from cancer, liver disease, heart disease, accidents, and su***de
• It plays a role in injuries, violence, and impaired driving
• And it’s a factor in many overdose deaths involving other substances
In communities like ours, where drinking is normalized, it can be easy to overlook the risks. But legal doesn’t mean harmless.

Let’s start talking about alcohol with the same honesty and urgency as other drugs.
