The Matthew Lane Hobby Foundation

The Matthew Lane Hobby Foundation Formerly known as Made with Love and Hope. Matthew was a gifted young musician with a generous spirit and a deep care for others.

The Matthew Lane Hobby Foundation is a nonprofit organization created in memory of Matthew Lane Hobby, sharing resources that support suicide prevention awareness, mental health education, and community outreach. At The Matthew Lane Hobby Foundation, our mission is rooted in remembrance, compassion, and a commitment to raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. This initiative was created in memory of Matthew Lane Hobby, whose life continues to inspire purposeful action and meaningful conversation. After his passing, his family sought a way to transform grief into something life-affirming — a way to honor Matthew while helping others feel seen, supported, and less alone. Over time, our mission has grown beyond its origins, sharing resources and initiatives that encourage awareness, education, and open dialogue around mental health. Through community engagement and purposeful outreach, we seek to reduce stigma and foster understanding. As our mission continues to evolve, we remain grounded in the belief that every life has value and that hope can be cultivated through connection, compassion, and intentional action.

Today is National Motivation and Inspiration Day — a reminder that encouragement doesn’t have to be loud or urgent to matter.

January is Mental Wellness Month — a time to gently remind ourselves that mental health deserves care, attention, and compassion all year long.

Mental wellness doesn’t look the same for everyone. Some days it’s about growth and energy. Other days it’s about rest, patience, and simply getting through the day. All of it counts.

💛 New Resource Available — Coloring Page (Week 01)

Today we’re sharing the first page in a new weekly coloring series created as a gentle mental wellness resource.

Coloring and other creative practices are often used as grounding tools — helping slow the nervous system, encourage focus, and provide a quiet, non-verbal way to process thoughts and emotions.

There’s no right way to use this page. No timeline. No expectation to finish it. You’re invited to color, pause, reflect, or simply sit with it — however feels right for you.

🖨️ You can download this week’s coloring page here:

New pages will be released weekly.

This resource is offered for support and reflection. It is not a substitute for professional mental health care. If you or someone you love is in crisis, please reach out to a trusted person, a mental health professional, or a local crisis resource.

As this year comes to a close, we want to pause — not to summarize or tie things up neatly, but simply to acknowledge the moment.

For some, the end of a year brings relief.
For others, it brings reflection, grief, or exhaustion.
And for many, it brings a mixture of things that don’t fit easily into words.

However you’re arriving at today, you’re welcome here. You don’t need to carry the year perfectly, and you don’t need to step into the next one with everything figured out.

We’re here today, and we’ll be here as the new year begins.

🎄 Merry Christmas 🎄

This season is often filled with joy — but it can also be one of the hardest times of the year for mental health. If today feels heavy, please know that your life has value, your story matters, and help is available.

Everything behind Made with Love and Hope exists because we believe in honoring life, creating space for healing, and reminding people that hope doesn’t disappear — even in grief, loss, or darkness.

Christmas is a reminder that light still comes, even when the night feels long. May we all be a little more gentle with ourselves and a little more intentional in caring for one another.

If you or someone you love needs immediate support, help is available 24/7:
📞 Call or text 988 — Su***de & Crisis Lifeline (U.S.)
If you’re outside the U.S., please seek local crisis support services in your country.

From our hearts to yours — wishing you peace, comfort, and hope today and always.

💛 National Survivors of Su***de Loss Day 💛

Today, Made with Love and Hope LLC honors those who live each day as survivors of su***de loss — individuals and families who wake up carrying a grief that most will never fully understand.

Survivors often experience layers of emotions that can include shock, guilt, anger, confusion, love, and longing — sometimes all at once. Unlike many other forms of grief, su***de loss can bring unanswered questions and a deep sense of “what if.” These feelings are real. They are valid. And they deserve compassion, not silence.

This day exists not only to remember the lives lost, but to acknowledge the survivors who continue forward — who choose to breathe, to love, to heal — even when the weight feels unbearable. Healing is not linear, and there is no timeline for grief. What matters most is knowing that you do not have to walk this path alone.

Our mission has always been rooted in love, remembrance, and hope — and today we stand especially close to those who have been forever changed by su***de loss. Your loved one mattered. Your grief matters. And your life matters too.

If you or someone you love is struggling with thoughts of su***de, help is available 24/7 by calling or texting 988 — a free, confidential resource offering immediate support.

🕯️ In honor of lives lost
🤍 In support of those who remain
🌿 In hope for healing and prevention

There’s a song by Chris Young called “Drowning.”

The first time I heard it, I felt every word. It’s about that kind of missing someone that comes and goes like the ocean — it’s always there, but it’s gentle one moment and crashing the next.

That’s what grief feels like.
Some days it’s quiet… and some nights, it pulls you under. 🌊

I miss my Little Man (my nickname for Matthew) every day — but love always finds a way to rise back to the surface. It shows up in the kitchen, in laughter, in hope, and in every sweet reminder of the life he lived and the light he left behind. 💙

Grief doesn’t follow rules. It rises and falls with its own rhythm.
If you’re missing someone tonight, know that you’re not alone — and it’s okay to let the waves come.

Forever my Little Man. 💙
