Who remembers the old Glover house on the corner of Harmon at Junction? We bought the property and sold the house to a famous Bull Rider, for $1.00. The house was moved down Junction Ave. to Lazelle St., then out to Alkali Rd. where it sat for some time. Ultimately it ended up west of Hermosa.

30 years ago this week, Dr. Dan Watson and Dr. Dave Prosser moved to their new office at that corner, and renamed their optometric practice Northern Hills Eye Care. The Thursday through Monday (Feb. 2-5) move occurred in -20 deg. temperatures. We opened for business in the new building Feb. 6, 1996.

Our practice was started by Dr. Don Hines in 1944. Dr. Watson joined in 1967, and Dr. Prosser joined in July of 1989. Dr. Hines retired in 1992 and Dr. Watson followed in 2001. Dr. Jason Hafner joined in 2001 and medically retired in 2016. Dr. Ross English joined the practice in 2015.

In 2023, we added Dr. Sarah Behles Hanson. We acquired the property adjacent to ours to the south with plans of adding on to the current building.

This week marks the 30th anniversary of Northern Hills Eye Care and the new office building!

Dr Behles spoke at the Sturgis Kiwanis meeting this morning. Had to use her iPhone to communicate her PowerPoint with the TV (which is why so small on screen). She did a great talk on Dry Eye Syndrome/Ocular Surface Disease.

Thank you team for doing such a great float. I was pretty happy with the music setlist and sound setup this year. Thank you Sturgis for so many people lining the streets to watch the parade. What a great community we live and work in!

In observance of Labor Day, our office will be Closed Monday September 1. We will be open as usual September 2.

The Strugis Motorcycle Rally is quickly approaching. As a reminder to all, we do close our office during Rally Week. This year our office will be closed August 2nd-10th. If you are needing glasses or contact lenses before that time we recommend getting your orders placed soon to insure that they arrive in time.
