Who is Responsible for Bullying Behaviors? Where does the buck stop?

Social Worker, Dr. Beth Plachetka, LCSW, EdD of Safe Harbor Counseling answers this question for us.

Who is ultimately answerable for the bullying behaviors that might seem civil from afar but are laden with innuendo to anyone closer? Who's accountable for the behaviors, interactions, or isolation that result in shaming and silencing valid ideas?
These very behaviors ripple through companies, departments, schools, businesses, causing insecurity and stifling creativity by inciting fear that YOU could be next. We often look away, comforting ourselves with the thought that we're safe, that the target must've done something to deserve being bullied.
The aftermath is poor service delivery, diminished profits, and unfulfilled goals. No business type is exempt.
So, who is ultimately responsible?
Help to stop workplace bullying!
