I haven’t put much of my personal life on my business social media page, but I decided I have a story to tell

A couple of days ago, my wife and I welcomed our second son Carson Elijah. The pregnancy wasn’t necessarily a breeze but there were a few challenges.  With several trips to labor and delivery, a two-night inpatient stay, an unexpected transfer of care within the third trimester that I believe was uncalled for, and having to move at 35 weeks, I would more than likely been terminated if I worked for an employer.  Being an entrepreneur has allowed me to be by my wife side and deal with all the craziness we dealt with the last 37 weeks.

Believe it or not, this experience made me a better business owner.  I had to really evaluate why I haven’t reached all my goals for my company.  I have had many failures, but I can say at the end of the day, I am successful.  I noticed that several of my clients wanted to treat me like an employee and not an extension of the management team.  I have learned to not take every single client just for the money.  I have learned to set professional boundaries and respect my own expectations. For me, this means, I am choosing not to work with thoae who become toxic and those who can not respect professional boundaries. I will no longer compromise my pricing, policies and procedures for the benefit of others. I have invested in business with vendors who will help me with growing my business and set me up for success.

Medical Billing with a Passion!

Meet the Founder

I am Deion Whorton Sr, husband, father, and medical biller. I married my wife, Candace, in July of 2017 and became a father to our amazing son, Deion Whorton Jr (Dre), in December of 2018. We moved from Indiana to Houston, Texas, in 2019 to fulfill my dream of living in the great state of Texas. I enjoy cooking and finding unique restaurants to visit. I love to travel with my family, exploring new places, and experiencing new things.

My medical billing career started in 2015 within the area of medical transportation. Following my introduction to the industry, I held several different jobs in the area of medical billing that included focuses on billing, follow-up, insurance verification, and patient collections. I also gained experience with commercial and government payers.

My passion for behavioral health stems from my childhood - it wasn't the best, leading to family life and school struggles throughout my teenage years. I was introduced to some behavioral services that helped me eventually find my footing, later leading to my career in behavioral health billing. I know from personal experience that behavioral health services are a vital necessity, and I want to do all that I can to help behavioral health patients and providers.
