Meet Shaian! He has been a Clinical Data Associate at Hope Biosciences Research Foundation since 2023, where he helps support meaningful research behind the scenes.

When he’s not at work, you can find him on the court playing or watching a game (mainly basketball, soccer, or tennis), spending quality time with his family/friends, or planning his next adventure.

Bonus fun fact: he’s a proud passion fruit aficionado!

We are very happy that Shaian is part of our HBRF family!

Expanded access exists for moments exactly like this. Seven people. Traumatic and non-traumatic brain injuries. None of them qualified for the traditional TBI study. Some were referred by UT Health. Others kept searching on clinicaltrials.gov. Every single one of them ended up on the patient registry. And that’s when we realized something important. These were people who needed an opportunity and were not going to qualify anywhere else. So we created one. That’s what compassionate use is. We don’t know what will happen. We hope for positive outcomes. But everyone deserves a chance. Watch the full episode on YouTube and Spotify to hear David and Sherry explain why the patient registry and expanded access matter so much.

Luis,

From the moment we received the approval to move forward with your treatment, you and your family had already captured our hearts.

Then, came the moment we met you in person. Who would have known you would become family? Your strength and perseverance, courage and hope for improvement, inspired us all. We are beyond grateful for all the laughs and stories shared and could not be prouder to have known such an incredible young man.

You were a man of unbreakable faith, love and trust for our Lord and Savior and even though, right now, for some, we may feel troubled, we are encouraged in knowing that you are now resting in His embrace.

Dear friend, as you ride into the sunset of heaven, we are reminded this isn’t goodbye, but until next time. Till we meet again, and ride into the sunset with you.

With love,
Your Hope Family

You're not just surviving; you're redefining what's possible. Keep moving forward.

Meet Maureen, our fantastic Clinical Trial Manager and a key part of the Hope Biosciences Research Foundation team since 2022!

When she’s not keeping studies on track, you’ll find her exploring the outdoors (especially hiking and fishing), traveling to new places, whipping up something delicious in the kitchen, or spending quality time with family and friends. She’s also a proud cat mom to Cosmo and Ripley, a fan of video games and board games, and loves doing all of the above alongside her partner, Brandon. We’re lucky to have her on the team!

Recovery from brain injury isn't a straight path—it's full of twists, small victories, and days that test your strength. But every survivor proves that real progress comes from showing up, staying patient, and holding tight to the belief that brighter moments are coming.

You're stronger than the struggle. Keep believing in your comeback.
