📣 Important Announcement from Tykes to Teens Pediatrics

To our cherished families and patients,

It is with deep appreciation and heartfelt sadness that we announce that Tykes to Teens Pediatrics will be closing permanently as of May 28th, 2025.

Caring for your children and being part of your family’s health journey has been an incredible privilege. We are truly thankful for the trust you’ve placed in us over the years and we treasure the relationships that we've built with you.

We also want to share that our physicians will continue their commitment to pediatric care in new settings, and would love to continue seeing your children:

- Dr. Hanh Nguyen will be joining the HOPE Clinic (7001 Corporate Dr Ste 120, Houston, TX 77036)

- Dr. Andrea Nguyen will be joining Blue Fish Pediatrics – Sugar Land (17520 West Grand Parkway South, Suite 430, Sugar Land, TX 77479)

While we are sad to say goodbye to our office, we are confident that these new opportunities will allow us to continue serving our communities with the same compassion and care.

Influenza A and B are both in full swing around our communities right now! If your kiddos are feeling flu-like symptoms or other associated symptoms (ex. ear pain, lasting cough) we are happy to work them in to get them the care they need. The ideal time to get tested for the flu is within 24-48 hours of fevers starting.

The contract with Blue Cross Blue Shield has been completed. Dr. Nguyen continues to be an In-Network provider for BCBS 😊

Many of our patients that are insured by BLUE SHIELD (BCBS) have received letters from BCBS stating Dr Hanh Nguyen will no longer be a provider for BCBS. This is due to contract negotiations between BCBS and Memorial Hermann Hospital and The Memorial Hermann Physician Network. Please be aware that Dr Nguyen has taken steps to contract directly with BCBS. Contracting may not be completed prior to the March 1, 2022 contract termination between BCBS and The Memorial Hermann Physician Network. We are hoping to be back In Network with BCBS soon.

With the recent surge in COVID19 cases and the holidays coming up, we want all of our patients and families to stay safe & healthy. Check out these resources with suggestions for other Thanksgiving activities, as well as how to make Thanksgiving gatherings as safe as possible!

- Wear a mask
- Shop early/online
- Avoid/limit gatherings (keep celebrations within your own household)
- Eat outdoors, stay at least 6ft away from anyone not in your household
- Do NOT depend on a negative COVID19 test - it only means that you might be negative that day, can give a false sense of security, and false negatives are common.

There are many ways to make this season fun despite the challenges we have faced this year. We hope you all have a safe and happy holiday season!

*IMPORTANT OFFICE UPDATE!*

Our Tykes to Teens office is adapting to meet the challenges of COVID-19 by offering TELEMEDICINE VISITS for most sick concerns. We are hoping this will help keep you and your families safe while sheltering in place, and give you a convenient way to see Dr. Hanh Nguyen & Dr. Andrea Nguyen from the comfort of your own home! Please do not hesitate to call for any concerns.

We are still seeing Well-Child checks in the clinic for kiddos 2 years old and younger. We are prioritizing keeping immunizations up to date to ensure that our community does not suffer through any other preventable outbreak in the midst of the coronavirus.

We are working hard to make sure the clinic experience is safe for yourselves and our own work family - including:

- Pre-visit triaging: you will be asked some screening questions prior to and when you arrive for the visit. Any respiratory symptoms or fever will require you/your children to wear a mask during the visit (and before arriving, if possible) to keep everyone safe. We are also checking temperatures of anyone entering the office.
- Well-child visit check in from your car! Call us when you arrive and we will notify you when your clinic room is ready for you, minimizing wait times in the waiting room.
- Only 1 parent is allowed to accompany each child in the office. We are hoping to decrease unnecessary exposures as much as possible.
- Designated well-child clinic rooms
- Thorough sanitizing of each room between visits with CDC approved cleaners
- Clinic staff equipped with appropriate personal protective gear

We are here for you and your families - in-person, and now via telemedicine!

Dear Tykes to Teens families,

We are here to help you fight COVID-19! During the coronavirus panic it can be hard to know what is true or false in the media, and what you can do to help protect your family (and stay sane!)

Thankfully, we have so many resources at our fingertips. To learn more about what coronavirus (COVID-19) is and what precautionary measures you should take to prevent the spread of it, the CDC webpage as well as healthychildren.org are helpful and trustworthy.

Also, PLEASE call us at Tykes to Teens Pediatrics if you have any medical concerns regarding your child (including, but not limited to, coronavirus).

In regards to the coronavirus, our clinic has systems in place to keep our staff and patients safe. This includes screening for coronavirus when making an appointment and having virtual visits when needed. We are now able to conduct telephone and video appointments to help keep your families safe during COVID-19.
