Honored to be part of the amazing TMA Leadership College. It is a critical time to be fighting for reproductive rights and tackling misinformation everywhere we see it.

It’s ! Meet Rashmi Kudesia, MD, a member of the Harris County Medical Society. Dr. Kudesia was named one of the 2024 Top Doctors by Houstonia. She has earned multiple awards and grants, been published in top medical journals, and is author of the book, Understanding Fertility Awareness Methods: Gaining Control of Your Fertility. We’re honored to have her in the TMA Leadership College.

What do you like most about being a physician?
As a physician in a field that often involves discussing the most intimate of topics and sharing in the highest of highs and lowest of lows, it is an honor to accompany my patients on their fertility journeys. I love being part of their story, hopefully making a positive impact and achieving the outcome they desire: a healthy pregnancy and baby.

What do you hope to gain from participating in the TMA Leadership College?
Through participating in the TMA Leadership College, I hope to better use my voice to advocate for high-quality, evidence-based reproductive health care for all.

So proud to & get my today 💪🏽💪🏽
So many thoughts but in brief:
🥚- no I am not concerned about a misleading meme circulating about this vaccine & - the risks of contracting Covid while would be far greater for anyone
🦠 There’s still a need for 😷 & social distancing, to protect the whole community, so things won’t radically change but I’m glad to feel safer seeing patients at
🧬 Still amazed that at we have our own in-house COVID testing. It feels so good to be at the cutting-edge of - we will keep helping the safely!
👥 I would never have missed getting my shot, but I remain concerned about equity in distribution. Thinking of non-physicians, trainees, those working at less wealthy hospitals, people of color...I hope the rest of the vaccine rollout goes more smoothly. If I could have, I would have happily given my 💉 to my dad - chief of staff and cardiologist at a hospital in - more front-line than I, definitely saw more patients than I, and yet no inkling as to when his turn will come 😕
BUT, this photo captures a joyous moment, and leaves me feeling hopeful for all that 2021 will bring...

I hope everyone had their 💗filled this past weekend. A much-needed reminder to make space for new beginnings, celebrate the triumph of good over evil, and find gratitude for whatever bounty and good fortunes have come our way. Grateful to have spent a beautiful day eating yummy food and trying out some new activities with the fam (first try with the 🙈🙈)

Took a break from purgatory to celebrate - these crazy times are yet another reminder to practice gratitude for our blessings. On this day, we celebrate and truly, I’m blessed to come home every day to our little family...and to break today’s fast with my hubby’s yummy cooking (sorry, I scarfed it down without pics!).

This is my “seriously?!? 🙄” face.
For the last day or so has been a whirlwind 🌪🌪Swipe left if you somehow missed the whole debacle with at tl;dr: a scrubs company heavily supported (in the past) by threw us under the bus 😳
Well every day brings new beginnings. Aside from being super excited about my new scrubs from elsewhere, my day was balanced out by a very exciting update. As Chair of the Women’s Council, tomorrow (Thursday 10/15 at 5p EST) is our virtual meeting. It’s bittersweet to host a virtual happy hour in place of the annual breakfast at the meeting (an annual highlight for me!). But, it’s a powerful moment. I will be presenting Dr. Catherine Racowsky, outgoing ASRM president, with an important recognition on behalf of the Council, and I’m excited to network with other women in reproductive medicine. We will be announcing the formation of our new online community, a powerful place for women working in - docs, nurses, embryologists, mental health specialists, ALL of us - to exchange ideas, network, mentor and seek mentorship, and more! If you are a womxn & ASRM member who is not yet a member of the Women’s Council, but would like to join, or if you need to register for the meeting, DM me so I can get you in! I will be sharing a story relating to Dr. Racowsky that really highlights why we women must support each other, not tear each other down, to not only avoid negative health impacts & for us but also because our perspectives improve patient outcomes 💪🏻💪🏽💪🏿I’ll share it to my stories tomorrow as well, so keep an eye out!
(hint: remember the on ?!? 🙄)

Hi - I did a thing! My first published BOOK 📖 for the is dropping on October 20! 🤗🤗🤗
Social media has become a great source of education and awareness but after finding myself answering the same questions again and again in different forums, I realized that I wanted to have one central resource to explain it all - the - how to start the as healthfully as possible, and when it’s time to see a ... and more!
The book is a straightforward manual that lays out everything as clearly as I know how, to let you take ownership of your reproductive journey right from the beginning with the guidance of a fertility specialist!

The power of to improve physical health but also your emotional and is astounding. Yet, when you’re on the sometimes it feels scary or intimidating to try a new , sometimes we get into a place of not trusting our bodies
Today I’m starting a series of posts on & ...
💪🏽Advice that you shouldn’t work out while or in is extremely outdated. You NEED to be moving your body in preparation for the significant cardiovascular stress of pregnancy and
💪🏽There is no cap on a safe heart rate (another oldie that people still ask me about!).
💪🏽I do take into account your starting fitness level as I make individualized recommendations, but walks or things that don’t challenge you are insufficient (though good for getting outside safely and bonding with a pet, partner or other walking buddy)
💪🏽If you enjoy sharing your workout regimen with a partner, that’s awesome...studies show that lifestyles tend to be shared within a family
💪🏽BUT sometimes you need that time for YOU and in that vein, I am just SO excited to share a collaboration with ... I first took The Class by Taryn Toomey years ago as a fellow. I could write an essay on this experience, but being in a room, vocally exhaling, moving and shaking away the tension in my heart and mind, I felt SO viscerally that if I could give the space to let out anxiety and reconnect with the body in a healing way, it would be this incredibly powerful moment. Years later, I am thrilled to have connected with the amazing and cultivated The Class X - a FREE opportunity for the entire around the world to join together in a healing and transformative workout that is SAFE no matter where you are ( included!) followed by an IG live with me and my super inspirational colleague Dr Jaime Knopman from CCRM NY. More - What you need to know about & PCOS:
💢A regular bleeding pattern, every 24-38 days or so, is a reasonably good indicator of ovulation
💢At-home ovulation predictor kits can often be inaccurate for women with PCOS, due to high baseline levels of luteinizing hormone (LH), the hormone that surges with ovulation and is detected in most OPKs
💢Your or can help you confirm ovulation if you’re unsure
💢Women with PCOS can ovulate on their own, though sometimes it’s unpredictable!
💢Women who don’t ovulate regularly sometimes experience anovulatory bleeds, which can last for weeks at a time!
💢You can only judge the regularity of your menstrual cycle OFF of - see prior posts for more info on this
💢More to come in future posts on how to help your cycle become more regular, but management depends on whether you’re or not 💢Ovulation induction with letrozole is the first-line treatment and generally the prognosis is excellent!
If you’re struggling on the and have irregular or heavy bleeding associated with PCOS, reach out for help.
BTW, I hope it’s obvious how this issue could impact quality of life, but here’s an example! Yesterday I took a day off to head to the beach 😎 If I had to deal with the constant fear that my period might arrive unexpectedly, it would really take a lot of fun out of otherwise amazing days - don’t let that happen to you!

Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility

My job is deceptively simple. The what is straightforward: I help people trying to understand and manage their menstrual cycle, preserve future fertility or build their families. The how is more complex: there are so many ways, and I am passionate about improving access to high-quality care and fertility education to help people sort out what their journey will look like. The why: because our society deserves better reproductive education and awareness, and there is so much joy and satisfaction in the road I get to walk with my patients.
