It was a wonderful night of food, wine and raising money for a great cause. 💙

We could not do this event each year without our Presenting Sponsor, L'Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles, and the many other generous sponsors and individuals that help support our mission.

Bridging the healthcare gap in SWLA is a real need, and this program and fundraiser exist to help bring our community one step closer to filling that need — by providing accessible healthcare to our hardworking, underinsured neighbors.

Thank you to all who support our annual Wine Down, Vino 101 event, and if you haven't, join us next year!! 🥂

The West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital (WCCH) Foundation has welcomed Molly Seale to its Board of Directors.

A New Orleans native, Seale graduated from Louisiana State University in 2009 with a degree in marketing and a minor in business. In her previous role as marketing director for a prominent automotive group, Seale expanded the company's marketing focus to include community engagement and outreach initiatives. This experience provided her with valuable insight into the importance of connecting with local communities—insight she plans to bring to her role on the WCCH Foundation Board.

After marrying Dr. Devin Seale, the couple moved to Lake Charles in 2018. Since then, she has become an active member of the community, particularly through outreach initiatives. As a parent of two children, Seale understands the importance of accessible, high-quality healthcare for families.

"I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital," said Seale. "I look forward to collaborating with fellow board members and healthcare leaders to advocate for policies that reflect the needs of our community. Together, we can work toward enhancing health outcomes and ensuring that Southwest Louisiana remains a vibrant, healthy place for families to thrive."

Seale is eager to focus on strategic oversight and community engagement initiatives that empower residents to voice their healthcare concerns. She believes that by fostering strong relationships with community stakeholders, the board can make informed decisions that truly reflect the needs of the community members it serves.

The West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital (WCCH) Foundation recently awarded two local high school seniors a $1,600 scholarship to support their McNeese State University health professions degrees.

The WCCH Foundation/Mac Burns Scholarship is presented to a graduating high school senior(s) in WCCH's service district who has chosen a career in the medical field and will attend McNeese State University in the fall and spring semesters after graduation.

This year's recipients were Kinsley Brown of Hackberry High School (HHS) and Sophia Burton of Sulphur High School (SHS).

Brown was actively involved in her education and extracurricular activities as a high school student at HHS; she was a member of Student Council, Future Farmers of America and 4-H. Brown will attend McNeese State University in the fall and plans to pursue a degree in nursing to achieve her goal of caring for others.

Burton has a passion for nursing and was able to obtain her certified nurse assistant license while pursuing her high school diploma. She has also been very active in the community, volunteering for various efforts and organizations, including ACTS teen retreats. In the fall, she will attend McNeese State University to pursue a degree in nursing.

To receive the scholarship, recipients must have achieved a 3.0 GPA and must have been accepted by McNeese State University. The recipients must also exhibit positive leadership capabilities and a genuine regard for those with whom he or she comes in contact.
