Winter Duldrums - What can you do to combat SAD?
As we delve deeper into winter, the shorter days and colder temperatures can sometimes lead to the winter blues, also known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). SAD is a type of depression that's related to changes in seasons, beginning and ending at about the same times each year. If you're feeling down, you're not alone!
Here are a few ways you can combat SAD:
1. Light Therapy: Consider using a light therapy box, which can mimic natural sunlight and has been shown to reduce SAD symptoms.
2. Stay Active: Keeping up with physical activity can boost your mood and ward off symptoms of depression.
3. Connect with Others: Social interaction is crucial, so reach out to friends and family or join online groups where you can connect.
4. Stick to a Routine: Maintaining a regular schedule can help stabilize your mood throughout the winter months.
