The Holiday Season is here and with that, many people experience Holiday Grief. We want to share a few tips on how you can still be present with joy, while honoring the grief that comes with loss.

1.) Plan ahead: Decide which events you'll attend and create flexible plans. You don’t have to feel obligated to show up beyond your ability. Part of processing grief is honoring the reality that it exists.

2.) Incorporate memories: Include their name in conversations, set a place for them, or create a memorial ornament. Avoiding the absence only helps for a moment. Be intentional about talking about them and the memories made through the years.

3.) Take care of your body and communicate needs: Get rest, go for a walk, or journal to manage stress. When emotions feel overwhelming, ground yourself. Pause, embrace the wave of grief and reach out to your friends and loved ones. We didn’t lose them alone, so we don’t have to grieve them alone.
