Mrs. Betty Jean Smith Jenkins, age 85 of Trion, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at a Rome healthcare center.

Mrs. Jenkins was born in Dalton, Georgia on August 29, 1940, daughter of the late Oscar Smith and Irene McClure Pratt. She was a member of the Harvest Worship Center in Trion and had baked for many family owned restaurants in the Dalton area before retiring to become a babysitter and homemaker. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching Hallmark movies. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her mom, Evoline Smith; husband, Johnny Jenkins; twin sons, Terry and Perry Jenkins; sister, Janet Purcell; and a brother, Billy Smith.

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Stephanie Jenkins and Gary and Anne Jenkins; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Mike Rankin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam and Steve Hall, Margaret and Denny Smith and Beverly and Joe Welch; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Debbie Smith, Charlie and Joy Pratt, Johnnie and Hazel Pratt, Marty Pratt and Jim Lewis; sister-in-law, Pat Smith; grandchildren, Madicyn and Jacob Morrisette, Mason Jenkins, Jacob Rankin and Ashley Rankin; great grandchildren, Emersyn Morrisette, Collyns Morrisette, Kinsley Rankin, Jada Rankin, Abel Rankin, Alyssa Stevens, Bear Stevens, Nick Eliam, Tyler Eliam and Cassy Wells; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Jenkins will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the Coffman Funeral Home.

Private Interment will be in the Whitfield Memory Gardens.

Mr. Joel Sidney Brumlow, age 71 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025 in a Rome hospital.

Mr. Brumlow was born in Canton, Georgia on August 22, 1954, son of the late Albert Sidney Brumlow and Clory Elizabeth Howell Brumlow. He was a member of the East Trion Church of God and was a retired antiques dealer and auctioneer. Mr. Brumlow was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany during the end of the Vietnam War, and was in the top of his class in sharpshooting. He enjoyed fishing, restoring antiques and going to antique auctions, and everywhere he went, he was always smiling.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brumlow was preceded in death by a daughter, Dusty Carmen Bartlett; son, Joel Sidney Brumlow, II; a sister, Rebecca Brumlow and a brother, Jerry Brumlow.

Mr. Brumlow is survived by his daughters, Clory Brumlow Beene and Mary Abernathy and her wife, Marti; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Steve Clowdis; grandchildren, Kennedy Faith Smith, Janssen Brantley Brock, Braxton Michael Brock, Clory Bella Marie Brock, Cavin Duke, Presley Abernathy, Bryson Moon, Grayson Parker, Levi Branton and Haven Hernandez; one great granddaughter, Freya Hernandez; and a number of nieces and nephews.

According to his wishes, Mr. Brumlow will be cremated and the family may have a memorial service at a later date.

Mrs. Wanda Nell Lawson Hutchins, age 87 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, October 31, 2025 in Rossville, Georgia.

Mrs. Hutchins was born in Trion, Georgia on April 16, 1938, daughter of the late Albert Lawson and Ruby Jewel Coots Lawson. She was a member of the Pennville Church of Christ and was retired from the accounting office of Bigelow-Sanford. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hutchins was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hutchins; and a sister, Johnnie Owens.

Mrs. Hutchins is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Ginger Hutchins; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Allen deBord; sister, Betty Shives; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Hutchins will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory with Minister Robby Eversole officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Maxine Baker, age 93 of the Pennville Community in Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025 at a Ft. Oglethorpe Healthcare Center.

Mrs. Baker was born in Kensington, Georgia on March 24, 1932, daughter of the late Charles Earl Franklin and Rebecca Rose Arnold Franklin. She was a member of the Mt. View Baptist Church and was a retired Nurse, working with Mt. Vernon Mills, Dr. Gary Smith and the Trion Hospital. She enjoyed quilting, traveling and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Baker; grandson, Marc Baker; sister, Earlene Franklin; and brothers, Charles Franklin, Wayne Franklin and Marvin Franklin.

Mrs. Baker is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sandra Baker; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Terry Meek and Sherry Mark Cothran; brother, Leon Franklin; grandchildren, Christy McDade, Casey Meek, April Welch and Marly Proctor; 6 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Baker will be held Monday, November 3, 2025 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Kevin J. Norton and Rev. Jimmy Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens.

Mr. Robert Leon Siffles, Jr. age 56 of Trion, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 in a Rome hospital.

Robert was born in Rome, Georgia on July 7, 1969, son of the late Robert Leon Siffles, Sr. and Betty Edgeworth Siffles. He was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Siffles Trucking. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on his trucks, and piddling, but his favorite activity was spending time with his grandkids and his furbaby, Jasmine.

Robert is survived by his wife, Angela Siffles; son and daughter-in-law, C**t and Ansley Siffles; a daughter, Salita Siffles; sister, Cindy Fitzpatrick; 6 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, Robert will be cremated and there are no plans for a memorial service at this time.

Mr. William Harold Ramey, age 76 of Summerville, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at his residence.

Mr. Ramey was born in Lafayette, Georgia on January 6, 1949, son of the late William F. “Red” Ramey and Bertie Louise Nichols Ramey. He was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and following his retirement, had worked at Trade Day.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ramey; sister, Nancy Owens and a brother, Larry Ramey.

Mr. Ramey is survived by a daughter and her fiancé, Tina Fowler and Jim Brock; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Hubert Adkins; granddaughters, Haley Fowler and Devin Bohanon, Sarah and Jayden Ledford and Kayla Ramey; grandsons, Ryan and Sydney Fowler, Matthew Fowler and Allen Ramey; great grandchildren, Emory Ledford, Ivana Ledford, Reid Fowler and Izzy Christian; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment Services for Mr. Ramey will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. in the Lyerly Cemetery with Rev. Sanford DeBerry officiating.

Mr. Douglas Lee “Doug” Mahan, age 80 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at his residence.

Mr. Mahan was born in Trion, Georgia on September 22, 1945, son of the late Glover Cooper Mahan and Dorothy Mae Adams Mahan. He was a member of the Trion United Methodist Church and was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills where he was employed as a Quality Control Technician for over 40 years. He was member of the Trion Masonic Lodge #160 F&AM, where he had served as past master and chaplain. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and football, especially if it involved the Trion Bulldogs or his beloved Georgia Tech.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mahan was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Douglas Mahan.
Mr. Mahan is survived by his wife, Linda Mahan; son Jeffrey Mahan; brother, Mel Mahan; grandson, Garrett Mahan; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Mahan will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. David Autry and Rev. James Hannah officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Trion Lodge #160 in charge of Masonic Rites.

Miss Kimberly Rebecca Lindsey, age 44 of Summerville, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 17, 2025.

Ms. Lindsey was born in Columbus, Georgia on December 10, 1980, daughter of the Nelda Rebecca Colbert Lindsey and the late Jerry Lee Lindsey. She enjoyed making crafts and spending time with her family. In addition to her father, Ms. Lindsey was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Nikki Lindsey.

Ms. Lindsey is survived by her companion of over 20 years, Dillon Pegg; two daughters, Paige Brewton and Autumn Brewton; mother, Nelda Lindsey; a brother, Jason Lindsey; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charlotte Nicholson Persons, who left us peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

Charlotte was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Charlotte was born on 07/10/1937 and grew up in Sylacauga, AL where she developed a deep love for crafting. She dedicated her life to her family and community, always putting others before herself. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her home was a sanctuary of love and laughter.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Persons, her two daughters, Donna Henderson & Sharon Jordan and her great granddaughter Aiden Swindle. Their memories will forever remain in our hearts, and we find comfort in knowing they are now reunited.

She is survived by her son, Scott Persons/Janet who will forever cherish the memories of his mother's gentle guidance and unconditional love; a son-in-law, Greg Henderson; Her grandchildren, Taylor Henderson/Tyler, Heather Jordan, Matthew Persons/Marissa and Luke Persons/Asia, who will always remember their grandmother's stories, hugs, and the special moments they shared. Her great grandchildren, Lynlee & Amelia Davis and Jordan Swindle will remember the joy they brought to Charlotte every time she was around them.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Amanda Montgomery for her exceptional care, compassion, and unwavering support during Charlotte's illness. Your dedication, patience, and kindness allowed Charlotte to live in her home peacefully through her final days. We are also deeply grateful to her husband, Michael, who was always willing to help in any way he could. Additionally, the family would like to thank Heyman Hospice and her team, Michelle Allie, Jeanette Cavin, Kim Higgins, Melissa Boone, and Jennifer Lawrence. A special thank you to all of Charlotte’s amazing, wonderful and caring neighbors. Charlotte Nicholson Persons will be deeply missed, but her love and light will remain in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Charlotte's life will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 6:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. David Autry officiating. Graveside and Interment services will be Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 12:00 Noon in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, Alabama.

Anthony Grant “Pizza” Stricklin, age 63, of a Summerville, Georgia address, passed away on October 19, 2025 at his residence.
He was retired from Roper Corporation for 14 years. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the North Summerville Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman in his spare time.
Mr. Stricklin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Frances Stricklin; parents, Grant Junior Stricklin and Paulette Mathews Deliddo and a daughter Anna Hamby.
Mr. Stricklin is survived by two sons, A.J. Stricklin of Subligna and Aaron Stricklin of Summerville, Georgia; sister, Nancy Hunt of Wellington, Alabama and granddaughter, Aaliyah Stricklin of Summerville, Georgia and step-father, Jack Deliddo.
No services are planned for Mr. Stricklin at this time.

Georgia Anne Brown (Sweet), age 87, embarked on her long-awaited journey to join family and friends on that jubilant Heavenly shore.

She was a beautiful light in this world, always pointing others to Christ. We will miss her sweet smile, her warm embrace and her kind encouragements. She was a rare treasure, a rose among thorns, always compassionate, always caring. She was kind, gentle and generous to a fault. The room is quiet, where once she sat. An empty chair left behind. Her ship has passed over the horizon now, but, oh, on that Golden Shore, I’m quite sure all of heaven is celebrating her arrival.

Mrs. Brown (Sweet) was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Lee Brown and Mattie Ruth Maddux Brown; husband, Charles Jefferson Sweet; two daughters, Vicky Sweet Gill and Cathy Sweet Ingle; sister, Doris Ford and a brother, Leroy Brown.

Mrs. Brown (Sweet) is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Charla and Henry Forrester and Rebecca Sweet; beloved granddaughter, Emily Sweet; brother and sister-in-law, Edmond and Brenda Brown; sons-in-law, Tony Ingle and Doug Gill; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Ms. Kimberly Michelle (Morris) McRae, age 54 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at her residence in Summerville, Georgia following an extended illness.

Kimberly was born in Rome, Georgia on August 16, 1971, daughter of the late Joey Morris and Sheila Dianne Barksdale. She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joe Morris, Sr. and Alice Morris; maternal grandparents, Cecil and Virginia Barksdale; special grandfather Gene Copeland and an uncle: Joe Morris, Jr. Kimberly was a high school graduate, class of 1989 Trion High School. She was a Christian of the Baptist faith.

Kimberly is survived by a daughter, Gracie Nixon; son, Matthew Nixon and a sister Holly Morris Kidd.

Funeral services for Kimberly will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Coffman Funeral Home with Reverend Thurston Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Larry Gilreath, Bobby Nixon, Daniel Nixon, Austin Kiser, Landen Self and Hunter Woody.
