Dorchester Alcohol and Drug Commission

Dorchester Alcohol and Drug Commission "DADC helped inspire change in my life. Now I have no desire to use but I have desire to help others..." to 5:00 p.m. Private insurance and Medicaid are accepted.

The Dorchester Alcohol and Drug Commission is the county authority in the prevention and treatment of substance abuse and related disorders and we are committed to providing each client with superior substance abuse and mental health services. The Commission is home to Dorchester Counseling Services, which specializes in outpatient therapy for individuals, couples, adolescents, and families. We are nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), meeting the highest possible standards and assuring consumers they will receive the best quality services at our agency. We are licensed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). The Dorchester Alcohol and Drug Commission (DADC) and Dorchester Counseling Services (DCS) are dedicated to providing area residents with high quality yet affordable evaluation, treatment and prevention services for alcohol, to***co and other drug problems, as well as other personal or family issues that may require counseling. These services will reduce the negative health, social and economic consequences of substance use disorders and other behavioral health problems. We are committed to providing the highest quality of services possible in safe, pleasant surroundings. All of our clinical staff members are highly trained and experienced professionals in the fields of counseling and substance abuse. Our staff includes licensed therapists, licensed social workers and counselors specially certified to provide substance abuse treatment. Counseling and educational approaches are individually designed to meet each person’s needs. We always encourage the involvement of family members and significant others in the treatment process. For those under the age of 13, family participation is required. In an effort to constantly provide the best care possible and to meet the needs to persons seeking services, we always welcome your input, both formally and informally. There is a Suggestion Box in our lobby, which you may use at any time to offer comments or suggestions for improvement. We also conduct various types of surveys, including periodic follow-ups, with your permission. All of this information is used in a constant effort to continually improve client care. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. Treatment Services extend beyond regular office hours Monday through Thursday to 8 p.m. Payment plans are developed to meet the client’s financial situation.

Safe Storage Tip: Keep track of how many pills you have taken by marking your bottle with an X for each time you take a dose. Knowing how many of your prescribed opioids you have taken will help you know if any have been taken by someone else.
