Palmetto Clinical Research (PCR) is the clinical research department for Palmetto Primary Care Physicians. Doctors Colby Grossman and David “Eric” Bolster are passionate about Research because it contributes to the advancement and development of new medications. The state of the art medications are up and coming to the public and shown to aid with diabetes, high cholesterol, chronic pain, COPD, women’s health just to name a few. As a research patient, you’ll receive personalized attention during each study you participate in as well as study related physical examinations, laboratory tests and study medication all at no charge. You may also receive monetary compensation for your time and travel.

One of our award winning Investigators

Dr. Eric Bolster, physician partner and Vice-President of Palmetto Primary Care Physicians, was recently voted BEST INTERNIST by
readers of HealthLinks Charleston Magazine!

Dr. Bolster is an Internal Medicine Physician and the CEO and co-founder of Palmetto Clinical Research. Originally from Durham, North Carolina, He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors degree in chemistry. He was awarded an Armed Forces Scholarship and attended Duke University School of Medicine where he obtained his Doctorate of Medicine. His Internal Medicine Residency was performed at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia, where he was awarded Most Outstanding Senior Resident. He then served as staff Internist at the Charleston Naval Hospital and an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Medical University of South Carolina.

Dr. Bolster has been in private practice as an Internal Medicine physician since 1993 and later joined Palmetto Primary Care Physicians in 2009. He currently practices at our Oakbrook Internal Medicine office off of Trolley Road in Summerville.

• do not have a previously confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19
• have an increased risk of getting COVID-19 (due to location, employment, or personal circumstances)
OR
• are less likely than most adults to benefit from a vaccine (for example, due to older age, obesity, or immunosuppression from a health condition or medication).
Not everyone will qualify to take part. The study doctor or study team will check other requirements before you can participate in the study.
The study injections, health assessments, and medical tests related to the PROVENT Study will be provided to you at no cost.

Palmetto Clinical Research (PCR) is the clinical research office for Palmetto Primary Care Physicians. PCR was founded in 1989 by Dr. Colby Grossman and Dr. D. “Eric” Bolster. Since then, PCR has branched out into numerous specialties. Our doctors include specialists in the fields of Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, and Neurology. Our clinical research investigators are passionate about clinical research because it contributes to the advancement and development of new medications, medical devices, and treatments for many diseases and medical conditions. Palmetto Clinical Research has conducted over 200 clinical trials for a variety of medical conditions, including diabetes, high cholesterol, chronic pain, COPD, men and women’s health – just to name a few.

As a volunteer, you’ll receive personalized attention for the duration of each study you participate in as well as study-related physical examinations, laboratory tests, and study medication.
