🌟 Resident of the Month Spotlight: Michelle “Shelly” 🌟

Michelle “Shelly” brings curiosity, warmth, and a lifetime of experiences to Wildcat Senior Living. Originally from the New Jersey shore, Shelly spent more than two decades teaching chemistry, helping students connect complex concepts to everyday life. Her passion for education and mentorship left a lasting impact on countless students.

After retirement, Shelly continued her spirit of service as a caregiver, volunteer, and devoted grandmother. She proudly goes by “Uber Granny” and stays busy cheering on her three grandchildren as they participate in a variety of sports and activities.

Shelly’s journey brought her to South Carolina and to Wildcat Senior Living in July 2024. Since then, she has become a cherished part of our community. Known as a trusted listener, a problem solver, and the “mom of Independent Living,” Shelly’s kindness, welcoming spirit, and love of decorating help make Wildcat feel like home.

✨ Fun fact: Shelly once raised a classroom piranha named Herk that grew from one inch to fourteen inches.

Latasha brings energy, heart, and joy to Wildcat Senior Living every single day. Born and raised in New York City, she carries a vibrant spirit and warmth that shines through in everything she does.

As a valued member of our Activities Department and our community driver, Latasha plays an important role in keeping our residents connected to appointments, outings, and fun adventures around town. For many residents, the laughter, music, and conversations during the ride are just as meaningful as the destination.

Latasha’s love for music, dancing, and enjoying life is contagious. She has a natural way of lifting spirits and making everyone feel comfortable, seen, and cared for.

We are excited to introduce Birthday by Design, our new personalized birthday dining experience at Wildcat Senior Living. Through this program, residents meet with our Activities Director, Gail, at the start of their birthday month to choose a special meal and dessert, thoughtfully prepared just for them by Chef Eileen.
It’s a meaningful way to celebrate our residents and honor the milestones that matter, because birthdays should always feel personal no matter your age.
Birthday by Design is just one more way we create moments that feel special, intentional, and centered around our residents.

We are giving a sneak peek of what’s ahead for February with today’s Titanic inspired cooking demo, featuring the classic Waldorf pudding salad, a timeless favorite from the era and a fun way to bring this historical theme to life.

This delicious preview leads into our Friends & Family Night: A Night in the 1910s – The Titanic Experience happening on February 18th from 4:00–6:00 PM. It’s an evening designed to bring residents, families, and guests together for connection, conversation, and community in a thoughtfully themed setting.

We would love for friends, family, and anyone looking into senior living to join us as we continue this journey into the 1910s throughout February.
