Someone recently told me to go into every interaction like the person is lying. They added, that way you force yourself to do your own due diligence. It did not hit home for me till last week.

I got hired to do a radon test and on arrival the seller was home. The seller was making small talk with me about radon and I asked without much thought. “Did you get your home tested 7 years ago before you closed?” She replied “no, the previous seller told me they tested and it was low.”

Well 48 hours later when I picked up the devices, the results were almost double the mitigation action level!! Moral of the story is due diligence is key and you won’t know if your home or potential home has radon without having a proper test done.
