Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 A M, Saturday morning. Interment will follow at the Tylertown City Cemetery.
Benjamin Doyle Evans left to be with his Lord Jesus Christ and reunited with his beloved Pat on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at the age of 84. Bennie was born April 3, 1941 in Monroe, LA. He lived in Jackson, MS most of his early life with brief stints in Mobile, AL and the Stronghope, MS area.
Bennie graduated from Central High School in Jackson in 1959. Immediately following, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Those four years had significant impact on the rest of his life. While home on leave to visit his grandfather at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, he met a student nurse named Patricia, and he was smitten for life. After a single date and a year of long-distance correspondence, Marine Lance Corporal Benjamin Evans returned home to claim his bride. Their first year of married life was spent at Camp Lejeune, NC until Bennie completed his enlistment. They returned to Summit where they lived the remainder of their 57 years of marriage, raising two daughters along the way until Pat left this earth in 2019. Now, Bennie’s greatest desire has been achieved and he and Pat are reunited for eternity.
Bennie was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, his daughter Lynn Williamson, his parents and step parents, Ruby and Marion Overby and Benjamin Frank and Dorothy Evans, brother Archie Evans, sisters Patricia Perez and Jean Baronne and infant sister Shirley Evans. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Summit Senior Adults Ministry or the Hattiesburg Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans.

Margaret was a woman whose life was a vibrant tapestry woven with deep devotion, tireless service, and boundless artistic passion. She was devoted to the love of her life, Don, for 61 years and to her children. Above all else, everything was about family. She loved being surrounded by her family. If family wasn’t included it wasn’t done. Sunday dinners, baking and decorating Christmas cookies with the grandchildren, or making candy and wreaths with her daughter, all was done with her family in mind.

Her faith was a guiding light, and she was exceptionally active in her church. She shared her spirit and knowledge as a dedicated Sunday school teacher and served as the head of the children’s department. As the librarian at her church, she brought many smiles to children of all ages as she helped them explore their imaginations through books.

Beyond the church walls, Margaret was a central figure in her community. She was a proud member of DAR (Daughters of American Revolution). Displaying a love for the stage, she was also an active member of the Pike County Little Theater. Margaret’s talents with sewing and painting helped to create magic and wonder with the theater. She loved sharing her passion for many things with others.
Margaret being a woman of many talents, she possessed practical skills in sewing and crocheting, and found tranquility in gardening. Margaret shared her love for gardening and flowers with the Summit Gardening Club. However, her truest and greatest love was art.

Channeling her creativity and her heart for children, she developed a unique art form she affectionately called “Painted Creations.” This involved building pieces of children’s furniture into extraordinary, imaginative works of art. Each piece was designed to bring joy and wonder to the world, leaving a lasting legacy of beauty.
