Mount Zion Transportation showed up and showed out last weekend! Two of the drivers proudly earned 2nd and 3rd place at the State MPTA Roadeo held in Starkville, Mississippi on March 14, 2026. Congratulations to Benton Thompson Jr. for securing 2nd place and to James Thigpen for earning 3rd place and advancing to the national competition.

Due to the continued power outage at Mount Zion Economic Community Center, Inc dba Mount Zion Adult Day Services, we will remain closed tomorrow, Friday, March 13, 2026.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through these conditions.

Mt. Zion Adult Day Services will be closed today, March 12, 2026, due to inclement weather.

Trees are blocking several roads, and there is currently a power outage at our facility, so we are unable to operate safely at this time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will provide an update as soon as power is restored and roads are cleared.

Please stay safe and warm, and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Today, we take a moment to honor the life and memory of Damon Hodges, a valued employee of the Mount Zion Economic Community Center, Inc., dba Mount Zion Transportation, dba Mount Zion Adult Day Services.

Damon was more than just an employee; he was family. Always warm, friendly, and ready with a smile, he brightened the day of everyone he encountered. His dedication and kindness left a lasting impression on both coworkers and clients alike.

As we lay Damon to rest today, our hearts are heavy but filled with gratitude for the time we shared. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and memory will remain a lasting part of our Mount Zion Economic Community Center, Inc family.

We extend our deepest and sincerest condolences to his family and loved ones. We ask everyone to join us in lifting his family in prayer and keeping them in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Damon. You will always be remembered. 💙🧡

⚠️ Weather Closure Announcement:
Due to the projected freezing temperatures, our Mount Zion Adult Day Services program will be closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety and well-being of the participants we serve, as well as our staff and transportation team.

We will resume normal hours of operation on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

We encourage everyone to stay safe, stay warm, and avoid unnecessary travel during the winter weather event. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our community and program participants. ❄️

Due to the forecasted winter weather expected, our Mount Zion Adult Day Services program will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety and well-being of the participants we serve, as well as our staff and transportation team.

We are actively monitoring weather and road conditions and will determine Tuesday's operations based on those conditions. Updates regarding reopening or additional closures will be shared as soon as possible through our page and other communication channels.

We are so grateful that you selected our Adult Day Services to engage in your project! The participants truly enjoyed themselves. We cannot wait to collaborate again. 🩷

Members from our PTK Officers Team met with Dr. Benton and Mrs. Janice Thompson who are the administrator and program director for the Mt. Zion Economic Community Center, Inc. in Summit, MS.

We were able to tour the facilities, meet the staff, and meet the people who participate in their program. We gained much needed insight on how to construct our project

As part of our Honors-in-Action Project, we are hosting a Poetry Project in November for the people who attend the Adult Day Care facility.
