Sitting sideways on the horse during Hippotherapy challenges the body in new ways! By changing our patients position, it activates different muscle groups, encourages trunk rotation, and helps improve balance and core strength. It also promotes body awareness and coordination as the patient adjusts to the horse’s movement from a different angle. Sometimes the smallest changes in position can create the biggest breakthroughs in therapy. 🧡

👀 Where’s Wally?

Somewhere in this photo is our amazing volunteer, Wally… probably doing what he does best — helping out quietly behind the scenes while the horses steal all the attention. 🐴

Is he fixing a gate?
Checking on the horses?
Blending into the background like a professional ranch ninja?

At Sundance, our volunteers like Wally make the magic happen every single day, even when they’re hard to spot.

Drop a comment if you think you found him! 🔎

Yesterday we celebrated a BIG moment in the arena. 🧡

During his hippotherapy session, one of our amazing 5-year-old patients achieved something he has been working so hard toward — for the very first time, he moved from his tummy into a sitting position on his horse! 👏

To many people, this might seem like a small movement. But for our patients, these moments are huge milestones. They represent strength, balance, coordination, and weeks (sometimes months) of determination. 💪

At Sundance, we celebrate every victory — big and small — because each one is a step toward greater independence and confidence. Moments like this are why our therapists, volunteers, and families show up every day with hope and dedication. 🎉

These wins are never taken for granted. They are shared celebrations between a brave child, a dedicated therapy team, supportive volunteers, and a very special horse. 🐴

We are so proud of this little rider and honored to be part of his journey.

We have so many furry friends. Some of crossed the rainbow bridge, some have retired, some are still working hard for our patients. But they are the bestest of friends 🐴 ❤️
