The back to school book bag giveaway went great. We didn't meet our 200 goal but we reached 147. Thanks to everyone that were kind enough to donate and help. We had residents that were excited to do their part as well from packing and being there to hand out the bags today. We have a few left over so we are donating them to the Crosswell Children's Home.

Blue Ridge of Sumter kicked off becoming a member of the Local SC Chamber with our Ribbon Cutting on July 21, 2022. Blue Ridge of Sumter not only wants to make the community aware of our facility with the service we provide, but that we want to give back to the community as well. Thank you to all the staff that participated including our very on Ky-Anne our Pet Therapy pup. She was the hit of the event.

Blue Ridge Healthcare of Sumter is planning a Book Bag Giveaway for August 13, 2022, from 10am to 12pm open to the community while supplies last. We are seeking donations for school supplies from area businesses to help us meet the goal of 200 book bags for the community.

The items that are needed for the book bag giveaway are: book bags, pencils, paper, scissors, rulers, glue sticks, composition notebooks, 3 prong pocket folders, individual hand sanitizers, Kleenex tissues, and crayons. If you do not have time to shop, monetary donations will be accepted as well.

Donations can be dropped off at our facility (1761 Pinewood Road Sumter, S.C.) Monday – Friday 8:30pm – 5pm. If you are providing monetary donations, please include what the donation is for along with your name and address so our residents can send out thank you cards.

Deadline for donations will be August 8, 2022 @ 5pm.
At Blue Ridge Healthcare of Sumter, we strive to give back to our community as a thank you for the help the community provides to our facility.

Blue Ridge of Sumter would like to Welcome our new Therapy pup Ky-Anne. She is itty bitty, but the residents and staff are already in love with her. As you can see in one picture she had to take a nap from visiting our residents. She will be visiting our facility each week for the residents to enjoy her company. Pet Therapy is a great addition to our facility for our residents.

Blue Ridge of Sumter celebrated the 4th of July Friday with fun activities along with a great cook out for employees and residents.
There was a dunking booth, pie in the face, corn hole, sack race, frisbees, and bubbles. A little music in the background that lead to some dancing. As you can see our Administrator Jerry Shelton really went all out for his part in the Dunking Booth. We even had one of the guest want to take part in the pie in the face which is Mom finally allowed him to participate. We had three volunteer's for the dunking booth and pie in the face that were real champs for participating. Thank you Jerry Shelton, Robin Lydick, and Russell Pentz for being great sports. Special shout out to the cook Kevin Strange for grilling all the good food. I will be posting a video of more of the fun in another post, so keep an eye out for the fun.

To all staff of Blue Ridge of Sumter. We will be having our 4th of July celebration this coming Friday July 1, 2022, from 12pm-2pm with a cook out. We will have hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, cupcakes, drinks and water. There will be games just to have a little fun which includes pie in the face and a dunking booth. You will have the opportunity to dunk or pie in the face the following department heads; Jerry Shelton (administrator), Robin Lydick ( Director of Nursing) and Russell Pentz ( Facility Director). Please have your family come have lunch with you if you are working. If you are not working please join us with your family for some good food and games.
