A few photos from our Happy Hour Social on Friday afternoon for Independent Living- this was an extra special happy hour as we had our very own Sh*tal from our dietary team with us who has recently opened a home based bakery - the residents enjoyed sampling her treats & purchasing others to enjoy and share with family.
Her focus on clean ingredients, lower sugar and vegetarian options were a huge success - especially the cinnamon rolls! Check out her page for Easter specials!

“Three Little Oranges” - by Crystal Fleming

“This morning, before the day could rush in with its noise and needs, you placed sunshine in my hand.

Three little oranges—not wrapped in ribbon, not bought for show, just given.

Your fingers, slower now, still remembered how to give.
And mine, so used to doing, paused long enough to receive.

In the rhythm of activity and care, where schedules try to define the day, you remind me that presence matters more than plans.

Your words fail, but your warmth speaks past barriers.
We hear what’s not being said, and smile at what’s so beautiful.

There is an exchange—of humanity, of love, of quiet friendship.

I wondered if you knew what you were really handing me—not fruit, but kindness shaped in silence.

You are my purpose, not my paperwork. And in a world that moves too fast, you remind me to feel.

These three little oranges mean more than they should—
bright against the weight of the day, soft proof that love still finds a way.

I carried them like something sacred, because sometimes care looks like this— in the middle of activity, in the heart of care, three little oranges, and a heart that still knows how to give.”

A beautiful poem, written by our Assisted Living Activity Coordinator, Crystal Fleming, APC - a real life pause and reflect, a moment of genuine connection with one of our sweet residents - reminding us all that even when words fail, we connect with each-other from the soul. We are so blessed to have her here at Covenant Place!

We hope you all had a wonderful St. Patricks Day! We celebrated with a wonderful traditional Irish Luncheon made by Chef Scott and our wonderful dietary team - Pub Trivia & Irish Beer with St. Paddy’s Bingo in Independent Living, as well as a virtual concert of the Celtic Womens Choir with Mocktails & Sweets in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing!
