Tandem Health was proud to have our Director of Community Development, Holly Chase, participate in the SCPHCA Legislative Drive-In Breakfast with some of our legislators yesterday, April 23, at the Blatt Building in Columbia!

Our team had the opportunity to connect directly with state leaders, share Tandem’s story, and highlight the impact we’re making across the communities we serve. A big part of the conversation focused on the importance of the 340B Drug Pricing Program and how critical it is to continuing to expand access to affordable, quality healthcare.

We were especially glad to spend time with Rep. Keishan Scott and Sen. Jeff Zell. Advocacy like this helps ensure our patients—and our mission—continue to have a strong voice at the state level.

Did you know Tandem Health has School-Based Health Centers right here in Sumter?

We are proud to currently serve students and staff at Pocalla Springs, Furman, Rafting Creek, and Manchester—bringing quality healthcare directly into the school setting where it’s needed most. And we’re just getting started… we look forward to expanding into even more schools in the future!

Our School-Based Health Centers provide convenient access to care on-site or through telehealth for students, adolescents, young adults, as well as school staff and faculty. Services include:
✔️ Basic primary care
✔️ Urgent care
✔️ Infection testing
✔️ Physicals
✔️ Immunizations
✔️ Screenings
✔️ Medication management
✔️ Health education and counseling
✔️ Referrals

We are especially proud to have Brittany Osteen, Family Nurse Practitioner, caring for our students and helping ensure they stay healthy, supported, and ready to learn.

At Tandem Health, we believe access to healthcare should never be a barrier to success—and we’re honored to be part of these school communities.

We’re excited to share some great news for our school community!

We now have a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) on-site at Pocalla a few days each week to support the health and wellness of our students. This opportunity is made possible through our partnership with Tandem Health right here in Sumter!

On April 1, Tandem Health’s Enabling Service CHWs joined Community Health Workers from across South Carolina at the State House for CHW Advocacy Day. They had the opportunity to speak with legislators about the impact CHWs make every day— including how every $1 invested in CHWs generates $4.96 in savings while improving health outcomes statewide. From connecting families to care to supporting maternal health, CHWs are helping shape a healthier South Carolina.
