Chapter 10: Gratitude, Appreciation, and Personal Magnetism
I didnāt fully understand how powerful gratitude and attraction were until I started living it and seeing real, undeniable results in my own life.
Not the kind you question. The kind that makes you stop and think, okay⦠this actually works.
For a long time, I approached things from a place of wanting. Wanting more customers, more growth, more opportunities. And thereās nothing wrong with wanting, but I realized that when that wanting came from pressure or lack, it didnāt feel good. It felt tight. It felt forced.
So I shifted.
Instead of focusing on what wasnāt there yet, I started focusing on what already was.
I started appreciating every single person who walked into my space. I appreciated my shop, the energy in it, the conversations, the little moments that could have easily gone unnoticed. I grounded myself in what was already working instead of obsessing over what needed to change.
At the time, I needed more foot traffic at my end of the block. That was the goal. That was the desire.
But instead of chasing it, I just kept showing up, doing my thing, and staying in that space of appreciation.
And then, something happened that I could have never planned.
An entire building went up. New businesses filled and are filling it. The downtown literally extended another block⦠right toward me. More people. More movement. More energy.
Exactly what I needed.
Thatās when it really clicked for me. I didnāt force that. I didnāt control it. But somehow, I was aligned with it. I didn't get jealous of a new cafe, I got excited for the new possibilities it brings us both!
Thatās the difference between chasing and attracting.
Another thing I started noticing was the people coming into my space. It wasnāt just more people, it was aligned people.
⢠People who were on their own paths of growth.
⢠People who were healing, learning, expanding.
⢠People who didnāt just benefit the store, but were also benefiting themselves in the process.
It became this mutual exchange where everyone was adding to each otherās energy.
Thatās personal magnetism.
Itās not about trying to pull everything toward you. Itās about becoming someone who naturally attracts what is meant for them.
I also had to shift how I viewed other peopleās success.
Instead of comparing or feeling like I was behind, I started looking at it differently. If someone around me is succeeding, growing, expanding⦠that means itās possible in my reality too.
It doesnāt take anything away from me. If anything, it proves whatās available. That mindset alone removed so much resistance.
At the same time, I started getting really honest about what didnāt belong in my life anymore. Things, people, habits, situations. If it wasnāt aligned with where I was going, I started letting it go.
Not in a harsh way. Just in a clear way.
Because when you release what no longer serves you, you create space for what does.
And Iāve watched that space fill, every single time.
One of my favorite examples of this, and honestly one of the clearest, was something so simple.
I had been wanting a piece of vivianite for a long time. Not obsessing over it, just knowing I wanted one. I would think about it, picture it, feel how excited Iād be to have it.
Then one day, a friend was at an oddities expo and randomly asked me if I needed anything.
Without overthinking it, I said vivianite.
And of course, there it was. Not just any piece, but the most perfect one. The kind that feels like it was picked specifically for you. Because it was!
That wasnāt me forcing anything. That was me being open enough to receive when the opportunity showed up.
Thatās how this works.
The universe doesnāt always respond to pressure. It responds to clarity, openness, and trust.
You can want things. You should want things. But thereās a difference between wanting from a place of lack and allowing from a place of trust.
When you start getting specific about what you want, letting yourself imagine it, and actually feeling what it would be like to have it, you start shifting your energy. And the biggest part of that is this: you donāt wait for it to show up to feel that way.
You bring that feeling into your life now. You find small ways to experience it in your day to day.
You let yourself feel supported now. Excited now. Secure now. Aligned now. Thatās what creates the magnetism.
Thatās what draws things in without force.
š How You Know Itās Working š
One of the biggest questions people have is, āHow do I know if this is actually working?ā Because itās not always some huge, instant manifestation. Most of the time, it starts subtly.
It feels different before it looks different.
The first sign is internal. You start to feel calmer about the things you used to stress over. Thereās less urgency, less overthinking, less of that āI need this right nowā energy. You still want things, but it doesnāt feel heavy anymore. It feels possible.
You might notice youāre appreciating things more without even trying. Little moments feel fuller. Conversations feel more meaningful. You feel more present in your own life instead of constantly thinking about whatās next.
Another big sign is things starting to align in small, almost coincidental ways. Random opportunities pop up. People mention things at the exact right time. You think about something and then it shows up in a conversation, online, or in your day.
Itās not always the full manifestation yet, but itās movement.
Youāll also start attracting different kinds of people. More aligned, more open, more on a similar path. Conversations feel easier. Thereās less forcing, less proving. Things just click.
Sometimes, whatās not aligned will start falling away too. Things might feel like theyāre shifting or even being removed from your life. This can feel uncomfortable at first, but itās actually a sign that youāre making space for something better suited to you.
Another clear sign is your reactions changing. Things that used to trigger you donāt hit the same. You respond differently. You feel more grounded, more sure of yourself.
And then thereās the moment where things start showing up in real, tangible ways. Not always exactly how you expected, but in a way that makes sense when you look back.
Thatās when you get that feeling of, āOkay⦠that was meant for me.ā
Itās important to understand that this process isnāt always loud or dramatic. A lot of the time, itās quiet. Itās a series of small shifts, small alignments, and small confirmations that build into something bigger.
If youāre questioning whether itās working, look at how you feel first.
Are you a little more at peace?
A little more open?
A little less attached and a little more trusting?
Thatās where it starts.
The external always follows the internal.
And once you recognize those early signs, you start trusting the process more. You stop forcing. You stop doubting as much. And thatās when things really begin to flow.
š§² Meditation: Becoming the Magnet š§²
Find a place where you can sit comfortably and wonāt be interrupted. Close your eyes and take a slow, deep breath in, then let it out gently.
Let your body settle.
Bring your awareness to your heart space. Imagine a soft light glowing there. Itās steady and calm, not overwhelming.
With each breath, let that light grow.
Now think about your life as it is right now. Your space, your work, your people, your journey.
Let yourself feel appreciation for it. Not because itās perfect, but because itās yours.
Say quietly to yourself,
āI am grateful for what I have. I am open to more.ā
Now bring to mind something you want.
See it clearly, but donāt reach for it. Just let it exist.
Now imagine itās already part of your life. Notice how that feels in your body.
Let that feeling grow.
Feel it in your chest, your stomach, your whole body.
Now imagine that same light in your heart expanding outward, gently pulling that experience toward you.
No force. No pressure. Just alignment.
Sit in that feeling for a few moments.
When youāre ready, take a deep breath in and slowly open your eyes.
š Living This Daily š
This doesnāt have to be complicated.
Notice what you already have and actually let yourself appreciate it.
Pay attention to what feels aligned and what doesnāt, and be willing to release what isnāt.
Let other peopleās success inspire you instead of discourage you.
Get clear on what you want, but donāt grip it so tightly that you block it.
And most importantly, start living in the feeling of it now, in small, real ways.
I donāt believe in this because I read it somewhere.
I believe in it because Iāve lived it.
And once you start seeing it happen in your own life, you wonāt be able to unsee it either.
Anyways, thank you for taking time to read this and I hope you get a little bit more in alignment with your journey. Love you all! š„°
