Looking for a soothing and strengthening hair oil? We got you covered!
Peppermint is used to cool and improve blood flow to the scalp. Hibiscus and Eucalyptus are solid choices, due to antioxidant properties. Red Clover Blossom is also beneficial thanks to its high isoflavone content. Calendula and chamomile have anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe the scalp. Finally, you’ll want to use a carrier oil such as rosemary to infuse your botanicals.
You’ll want to start with a clean dry jar and dried botanicals (this step is important to avoid bacteria). Make sure they’re ground so they can infuse better!
We recommend this ratio of botanicals:
1 part hibiscus
1 part peppermint
1 part eucalyptus
2 parts red clover blossom
2 parts calendula
1 part chamomile
Add the botanicals to a clean jar. Add your carrier oil and make sure it fills to the top. Then, you’ll want to use a spoon or a chopstick to push your botanicals down into the oil. Be sure to check the bottom for any dry ingredients. Wait until all the bubbles stop, then cover your jar with parchment paper and add the lid.
Leave in a cool, dry place for 3 weeks to a month, then strain. Be sure to inspect your oil before use.
