Just a little glimpse of what we've been doing to keep busy and warm this week!

We are BEYOND grateful for all of our staff that brave the weather to care for our residents when it isn't always easy. We are especialy grateful for our "Weekend Warriors", who went above and beyond, by planning ahead and have stayed at the community around the clock since Saturday night to be sure they were here to care for the residents. As much as we love having you ladies here, we hope you go home tonight and sleep well in your own beds!

Elvis has left the building! It may still be cold outside but it sure was warm in here this afternoon! Elvis is one of our absolute favorite entertainers that we have here at Walnut Trail and he never disappoints. We can't wait to have him back!

As pretty as the sunshine is making it look outside...we aren't falling for that trick! We will be staying nice and cozy around one of our many fireplaces today!

Our resident Christmas Brunch was truly amazing! The Mistletoe Mimosas, Chicken and Waffles, and Shrimp with Cheeesy Grits were the big hits but everything was absolutely delicious! Thank you to all who worked so hard on this incredible meal!

We had a pretty special visitor yesterday! Sounds like his elves have been on top of things so he had some time to come and bring some smiles to our faces. A very special thank you to Jules, Riley, Ellie, and Emma from Big Walnut Middle School for your beautiful music and cards for our residents as we decorated cookies and made crafts! I think most of us may make it on the NICE list this year!

This week has been full of holiday cheer and it isn't over yet! The last two nights have been filled with family and friends at The Inn at Walnut Trail. Our annual Holiday Dinners are our chance to celebrate all that is great in the Christmas season for our residents. We are so grateful for all that were able to make these nights so memorable. There will be more pictures to come as we are still recovering from all the festivities! A special thank you to Karen Corbitt for her beautiful music not just for this event, but all througout the year. Thank you to Jon, our Therapy Director from Hope Health for his stellar drink pouring. And last but certainly not least...if you noticed our beautiful handmade gnomes amongst the centerpieces... those were handmade and donated by Cecillia, one of our resident's great granddaughters! They will be raffled off to some of those that were in attendance the last couple nights.
