Zeb was protecting Ellie, both miniature donkeys, from two dogs. He was beat up and somewhat eaten. The picture of Zeb below is the beginning of a healing journey for all involved. I am sharing this miracle with you. His owner wrote this:
Hard to believe that 8 weeks ago…
Tonight is the last night for them to be at OSU!! It's actually hard to believe that we are leaving tomorrow with the status of FULLY RECOVERED. Today was day 56 of praying over him, laying hands on him and anointing him with oil and the promise of Jeremiah 30:17.
There were days that I spoke every word intentionally out loud saying "My God will restore you to health Zeb and He will heal ALL your wounds" and as I was saying that, tears pouring down my face. You see I could say it by faith but what my eyes were looking at was beyond my comprehension. I would drive back home thinking about all the wounds I could see on Zeb's body and wonder how God could possibly heal ALL of them. I know Faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things unseen according to Hebrews. So whenever my eyes became overwhelmed at seeing all the wounds, I would pray God you have healing for every one of those wounds! Many days I couldn't even touch Zeb because there were no places without wounds.
In this eight weeks, I have learned much along the healing journey with Zeb and Ellie. I have learned that I have limits and need help, just like Zeb. I have learned that there is wisdom in the wound. There is purpose in the pain. There is healing beyond comprehension because we serve a God that is full of tender loving mercies and He still makes miracles out of horrible situations. I've learned there are a multitude of believers across the nation and the world that can come together out of compassion and love and make a difference in a donkey's life. And I've learned that a couple of donkeys can help the world find hope and healing. We need to know that God cares and hears our prayers and we can TRUST Him. We've witnessed the power of love, faith and healing working together to glorify God and for the good of those involved. That means for anyone involved who has witnessed this journey.
Now if you know anything about donkeys they can be stubborn! Actually, they are just "sure-footed" and if they are not sure where you are taking them, they sure enough are not moving! But what moves a donkey more than anything else is trust. I'm trusting that as we move the donkeys tomorrow from OSU to a friend's farm, they will go with the hope that the journey is not quite over, but we've come a long way in 8 weeks because ...we can trust the journey.
God has restored his health and He has healed ALL his wounds!! The jaw still has some healing to do but I know God will complete what He started!
