Truckers ask agency to end ELD mandate - Land Line

FMCSA is considering updates to the ELD mandate. Hundreds of truckers say they want the mandate to end. The comment deadline is Nov. 15.

An early warning for those who still try to use their phones for texting while driving or other functions. It will become a lot easier to observe violations and we won't have to show you were TEXTING, just that you were using your phone while driving. We want to decrease the number of distracted driving crashes and in doing so, decrease the number of injuries and deaths on Indiana roadways.

Reminding drivers and motor carriers of the “appointment crunch” that is going to happen on June 30th. It's better to get their appointment now rather than wait!

Motor Carriers are hiring drivers like never before. They will want these new employees to have a fresh medical exam to insure they are safe. Previously retired drivers with expired medical certificates are getting back into the cab. Student drivers still need a current medical certificate to start driving school. Additionally, there will be motor carriers that recognize the future medical exam scheduling problem that is going to happen on June 30th and will wish to avoid it.

Remind drivers and motor carriers of the “appointment crunch” that is going to happen on June 30th. It's better to get their appointment now rather than wait!

Keep in mind that many clinics are either closed or have stopped performing driver exams and drug testing due to lack of staff resources or availability.
