A branch of Yakima Worker Care. Established 2004, we are an occupational medicine clinic serving the lower valley and Prosser areas.

In addition to providing care for work-related injuries, we provide business health services such as drug screening, physical exams and immunizations.

On this day in 1913, Ford launched the very first moving assembly line, slashing production time from 12 hours to just 2.5.
Workplace injuries were far more common—no ergonomic setups, no PPE standards, and no occupational health clinics watching workers’ backs.

Today, thanks to modern safety practices, we’ve come a long way. Injury prevention, early symptom checks, proper lifting techniques, and routine health screenings help workers stay healthy on and off the job.

🥗 Healthy Holiday Recipe Spotlight!

Roasted Sweet Potato & Quinoa Harvest Salad

Looking for a dish that tastes amazing and treats your body right? This colorful fall favorite checks every box. Perfect for your Thanksgiving table—or meal prepping a wholesome lunch that gets you through your shift feeling energized!

Ingredients:

2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled & diced

1 cup cooked quinoa

2 cups baby spinach or kale

¼ cup dried cranberries

¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp maple syrup

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400°F. Toss diced sweet potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast 25 minutes until golden and tender.

In a large bowl, mix cooked quinoa, roasted sweet potatoes, spinach, cranberries, and nuts.

Whisk maple syrup and apple cider vinegar for a simple, tangy dressing. Drizzle and toss lightly.

Serve warm or chilled — and prepare for compliments!

Tip: Add feta cheese or roasted chickpeas for extra protein.

This dish is a reminder that “healthy” can still be hearty, colorful, and full of joy!

As harvest winds down and winter prep begins, November is one of the highest-risk months for farm injuries. Shorter daylight, cold mornings, and rushed seasonal tasks can all increase hazards.

Safety Tip for November:
Before starting machinery on cold mornings, let equipment warm up fully and do a quick walk-around check. Cold temps can stiffen hydraulics, reduce tire pressure, and make moving parts less predictable.

A few extra minutes can prevent costly breakdowns and serious injuries.
