Meet Teresa 👋 Teresa is our amazing Director of Operations and has been with us for almost four years.

Teresa runs our clinics. She has remarkable foresight, anticipating both our patients’ and our team’s needs with ease. At the same time, her thoughtful, caring presence makes every interaction feel genuinely personal—like you are the focus of her attention. If she weren’t our Operations Director, she would be opening her own specialty matcha tea shop.

Read what she has to say below:
-
I joined Acacia in April of 2022. I fell in love with TMS after college and wanted to see more of what it can do. My boss Manuj Nangia at the time introduced me to Acacia and upon interviewing at Acacia, I felt that there was something very special here. Aside from being impressed by all the things that Acacia was doing and accomplishing, I was moved by the love that permeates through the clinic. 🌱

I think some of the most important aspects to flourishing in life include humor, love, and getting to know yourself. I think it’s so important to incorporate laughter in life and it’s not just something that brings people together - it’s a symbolism of my resilience. Love is one of the most important things that provides me purpose and gives me a reason for everything that I do. Lastly, getting to know myself has been so essential to allowing myself to be loved, to feel peace, and to know how much I can give versus when I need to ask for help.

Some of the most memorable moments at Acacia include the spaces in between the big moments. The very early mornings before the sun even rises when I am preparing for the day’s treatments with my coworkers or the very late nights after a big events when people are grazing on the leftover food and putting together the clinic. The collective effervescence of those moments is something very special and something that I cherish deeply. ⛅🌙💙

It’s okay to arrive as a skeptic. In fact, we welcome it!

Russell Toll’s example of motor thresholds as a demonstration shows something simple and undeniable: TMS interacts with the motor system in a real, measurable way. You can literally see the brain respond.

If you’re navigating PTSD, depression, or anxiety, exploring evidence-based treatments can be a powerful step toward healing.

✨ You deserve relief.
✨ You deserve answers backed by science.
✨ You deserve hope that’s real.

If you’re curious whether TMS might help you or someone you love, our clinicians are here to talk.

This week we asked our staff who they’re thankful for in the clinic 🧡

To our Acacia team: your dedication, compassion, and heart make this place what it is. We’re endlessly grateful for you.

As the holidays begin, we want our community to remember: you matter. However this season feels—joyful, heavy, or somewhere in between—you’re not alone. 🫂

If things feel hard, reach out. Support is here. Hope is real.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Acacia! 🦃🧡

“Many veterans equate ‘never quit’ with ‘never admit.’”

In this honest interview, Army veteran and Acacia advisor Russell Toll reflects on his service, the meaning of resilience, and how he learned that true strength sometimes looks like asking for help.

Proud to share this conversation as part of our Veterans Series at Acacia Clinics — shining a light on mental health and hope for those who’ve served.

Dr. Russell Toll and Dr. David Carreon first collaborated in the Etkin Lab at Stanford, where they worked on TMS and EEG research that helped shape future innovations in neuromodulation.

Today, Russ leads Compassion Neuroscience in Texas, integrating advanced TMS into veteran-centered care. Dr. Carreon leads clinical innovation at Acacia Clinics, developing protocols like HOPE-TMS® and Magnus SAINT®.

This month, as we honor our veterans, we’re sharing Russ’s story not just because he’s a neuroscientist but because he’s an Army combat veteran who understands the invisible battles many service members face.

His journey reminds us why precision brain care matters and why no veteran should have to struggle alone.
