While everything seems to be pumpkin spice this time of year, these pancakes really taste good and deserve a place on your plate and in your stomach.

Mix together:
1 1/2 C Buttermilk
1 C Pumpkin Purée
1 Egg
2 T Vegetable Oil

Whisk together dry ingredients in a separate bowl:
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
3 T Brown Sugar
2 t Baking Powder
1 t Baking Soda
1 t Allspice
1 t Cinnamon
1/2 t Ground Ginger
1/2 Salt
1 t vanilla extract

Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Cook pancakes as usual and serve with Spiced Bourbon Butter and real maple syrup.

Spiced Bourbon Butter
8 T Soft Butter
1 T Bourbon
1 T Orange Zest
1/2 t Cinnamon

Place all ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine. Chill before serving.
