Stem Cell, Inc’s mission is to advance novel regenerative medicine and cellular therapies through services that substantially benefit human and animal health. Stem Cell's discoveries include multiple cell therapies in various stages of development that repair damaged hearts of patients suffering from chronic and acute heart damage. Stem Cell’s goals are to cause damaged tissue to be regenerated, when possible, improve a patient's quality of life and reduce overall health care costs and hospitalizations. Stem Cell’s lead product candidate is MyoCell®, currently in Phase III trials, a muscle stem cell therapy that is intended to improve cardiac function months or even years after a patient has suffered severe heart damage due to a heart attack.

Board Member Spotlight: Dr. William P. Murphy, Jr., M.D.

Dr. William P. Murphy, Jr., currently serves the Chairman of the Board of U.S. Stem Cell, having joined the as a member of the Board of Directors in June 2003. A highly successful entrepreneur and inventor, the owner of 17 patents, Dr. Murphy founded many innovative firms. Including, Cordis Corporation (now Cordis Johnson & Johnson) which he led as President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at various times during his 28 years at Cordis, until his retirement in October 1985. Cordis Johnson & Johnson is a leading firm in cardiovascular instrumentation.
