Since 1956, Arc Broward has worked hand-in-hand with our community, changing how people with developmental disabilities and life challenges are embraced and included. This critical work ensures that people with disabilities, not only live, learn, work, and play in their communities, but more importantly, thrive. Arc Broward operates at 9 locations and provides 21 programs throughout Broward County, FL. Arc Broward’s two social enterprises — Arc Educates and Arc Culinary — are groundbreaking efforts to transform the community by providing opportunities for people with disabilities and other life challenges to realize their full potential.

Adrian is a recent graduate of our Material Handler Certificate Program and has always been interested in material handling. He takes great pride in his work and has gained strong skills related to the warehouse environment, including safely using a pallet jack. In addition to his technical skills, he is a creative individual. He is seeking employment at Publix, where he can contribute, learn on the job, and be a dependable team member.

Meet Mike, a recent graduate of our Material Handler Certificate. Mike decided to further his education because he has always wanted to work in a warehouse. Through the program, he learned important material handling terminology that he is proud to use on the job, along with hands-on skills such as operating a pallet jack and hand truck. One of the biggest skills Mike gained is patience. He shares that Arc Broward helped him focus and get into the right mindset for working. His goal is simple and meaningful: to find a job and keep it. Mike is eager to work anywhere in the field of material handling and is ready for the opportunity to prove himself.

Meet James, a recent graduate of our Material Handler Certificate Program! James wanted to further his education because of his desire to gain employable skills. One of his greatest achievements was learning how to properly pump and use a pallet jack, along with gaining hands-on experience with shrink wrapping. James is proud of the skills he’s gained and wants to use them to help others in the workplace. His goal is to put his training to use by working at an Amazon warehouse. James is motivated, eager to learn, and ready for the next step in his career.

Meet Robinson! Robinson is a recent graduate of our Material Handler Certificate Program and is ready to join the workforce. He gained hands-on experience using tools, safely operating, and moving a pallet jack, and working across different sites and tasks. Robinson built confidence through training and learned that even when something feels challenging at first, he can succeed. He is seeking employment at FedEx or in a packing or warehouse role where he can be dependable, learn quickly, and contribute to a team. Employers interested in hiring Robinson are encouraged to connect with us.

What began as Heather’s effort to connect with neighbors near UKG’s Weston campus has grown into a treasured tradition at Santa Fe House—one rooted in real friendship, shared laughter, and moments that remind us how belonging is built.

Each year, Heather helps bring holiday wishes to life, gathers teammates who lead with generosity and care, and creates space for meaningful connection with the residents who live at the Santa Fe House.
