Some of you may have heard already that I will be leaving the Creative Counseling Group in April. I am opening up my own private practice, and have found office space just down the street in the old board of trade building in Superior! This means some pretty big changes, but hopefully really good ones!

Hello everyone! I am super excited to share that Kindred Souls Counseling will be opening as of April 1st, 2025 in Superior, Wisconsin! This is no April Fool's joke!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and CASDA is one of this region’s most vital organizations, offering numerous free resources to survivors of abuse. Please consider joining in any of this month’s events.

Tomorrow is the 1st of October, which means CASDA is kick starting Domestic Violence Awareness month with a proclamation from Jim Paine, Mayor of Superior at the Douglas County Courthouse.
The event is at 1:30 pm.

I know that the high cost of utilities has been impossible for many of my clients to meet. With the high cost of rent, and the low wages in this area, the idea of such a large increase in the cost of utilities is unthinkable. Especially when you realize that it is only to provide shareholders a raise. This is the only private utility company in the State of Wisconsin, and it is pretty clear why.

PLEASE consider showing up and speaking out tonight if you are able. Your voice needs to be heard. Share your stories, your struggles, your voice. Never doubt the power of many people banded together. ✊🏼

Hello everyone, would you consider taking a look at this petition and signing it? Essentially, all of my fellow mental health therapists and I in Wisconsin are trying to advocate for our insurance reimbursement rates to increase. We haven't had a cost of living raise in quite a long time, and as the cost of everything keeps skyrocketing, it has become incredibly difficult for us to pay our bills in this economy.

The reimbursement numbers shared in the petition also need to be taken with the understanding that as a therapist I only get a percent of the money sent to me by the health insurance company, with the rest going to things like office rental fees, billing company fees, cost of having a secretary, call service fees, internet fees, office supplies, etc. On top of it, a lot of us see many people pro bono or on a sliding fee scale, making our income even smaller. We are required to have a masters degree for this work, yet sometimes our paychecks are below $1,000 for two weeks worth of work.

Today’s grief group explored what the six stages of grief look and felt like for them. They explored their experiences with denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance, and meaning making. It was a tough group, and everyone in attendance was incredibly brave in their vulnerability.
