Hello fellow students-
On Friday, January 9th at 11:30 on the Superior campus, we have arranged to have a representative from the BSN@Home program come meet with us. This is a program that allows you to earn your bachelor's degree online through one of the University of Wisconsin campuses. Here is a link for the program if you want to explore it ahead of time http://www.bsnathome.com
Lorraine Smith, the representative, is asking that students email her a copy of their UNOFFICIAL transcript so that she can get an individualized program plan together for each of you. Her email address is smithlm@uwec.edu. In no way does this information session commit you to anything but will just be an opportunity to easily explore one of the options that is out there and kind of give you a general idea of what additional classes you may be required to take to earn a bachelors. I would imagine the meeting would take at least an hour but we are set up in room 216. Hope to see lots of you there! Enjoy a well deserved break in the mean time!

Middle River Health and Rehab, just south of Superior, is currently hiring for CNA’s, LPN’s, RN’s, and Nurse Techs (students who have completed one semester of nursing school). To apply you would need to go the facility and fill out an application. They are usually able to interview applicants when they come in to fill out the applications. They are currently looking for afternoon and night shifts, full time, part time, and casual. They are located at 8274 E San Road- if you take highway 53 south of Superior, turn right onto highway C just past the way station, then a left onto highway E - it is about ten min down highway E from there & you will see their sign. For more information, you can call 715-398-3523.

An awesome quote from this article: “What personal care hospitalized patients now get is mostly from nurses. When nursing is not optimal, patient care is never good.”

Hats off to all the current and future great nurses out there!

It is surprising that it was only after a long and complicated hospital stay that Dr. Arnold S. Relman, a noted medical educator and author, realized the importance of nursing care.
