Currently we are in a transition phase from a Christian-based charity that fed the homeless to a people-based charity that feeds change, community awareness/service, much needed education, and compassion back into our population. I wanted to provide warmth and joy to people who were lacking during the holiday season. Thanks to generous donations, and willing volunteers, we were able to make this vision come to life several times over in the Downtown Phoenix area for 4 summers and 4 winters consecutively from 2009-2013!
2009...Almost 9 years ago...That's quite a bit of time! For one, I am no longer the same little girl leading this charity any longer. I will be married in a month, and starting my medical career in a year. With that being said, I feel that it may be time for Project Messiah to undergo some changes of its own. A little "make-over" if you will...
As I look back on the compassion from our donors and volunteers, as well as the impact that Project Messiah was able to make on so many people/families in need, I can't help but wonder what we may be capable of today in 2017? As I write this description, I think of our the current state of affairs arising in our beloved country at this very moment: Hurricane Harvey, followed by Hurricanes Irma, Jose, and Katia, Earthquakes in Mexico measuring at 8 magnitude, followed by a devastating tsunami, historical amounts of flooding, and so much destruction to properties and homes that the destruction has become absolutely unfathomable. Follow our page , and see what new direction we are headed in!
