Ama 🦮

Ama is a 1y female lab mix who weighs 55lbs. She is a beautiful girl and is very playful. She loves toys and just sniffing all the sniffs. This girl has lived with other dogs, tested great with kids and no cats for Ama. She is completely house and crate trained and walks on a leash but does tug some. Ama knows how to sit and gives “paw” for treats. She is very treat motivated. Ama needs an active family life! If you think Ama may be a good fit for your family please stop by to meet her. 765-2200

Ember 💕

Ember is the sweet sister to Koby. We believe her to be a border collie mix too, she is around 4-5 months old, and weighs 31.2lbs. Ember can be a timid personality at first but this girl loves love. She isn’t treat motivated but she’s eager to please and praise motivated. Ember loves kids and does well with cats. She is learning to walk on a leash and is dog social. If you would like to set up a meet and greet to give this girl a wonderful furever home give us a call at 765-2200.

Koby 🐾

Koby and his sister were left in our shelter parking lot as strays so we don’t have any history. We think he is around 4-5 months old and likely a border collie mix. Koby is friendly and outgoing. He weighs 32.4lbs. He would chase cats but he’s very smart and can be trained. He will sit for treats already. He’s super friendly with other dogs and is just now learning to walk on a leash. If you would like to give Koby a great home stop by during business hours or give us a call. 765-2200

Thank you to Cidney Batton and everyone who participated in her donation drive toward the care of our animal shelter pals!
Cidney organized multiple drop-off locations to collect donations and did lots of advertising as a part of her Eagle Scout project and what an awesome job she did. We appreciate your kind heart, hard work and love for the animals Cidney! 🐶

Hey Everyone! We are helping a generous client find homes for these sweet puppies! These four (spayed) female are around 6 months old, range in size from 35-45lbs, and are super sweet and calm! They were spayed this past week, have had their rabies vaccination and 1 round of puppy combo vaccines. The owners generously opened their home to a stray pregnant dog and have fed, vaccinated, spayed these puppies. They would love for each of them to go to a loving home and are not asking for any monetary reimbursement for their care. Please give us a call at the hospital if you are interested in adopting one of these sweet pups!

🚨 MISSING: Chris Palmer & his dog Zoey 🚨

Chris Palmer has been missing since early January 2026, and his disappearance raises serious questions.

Chris is an experienced camper who frequently traveled through national forests—always responsibly, always keeping his family informed.

🗺️ Where he said he was going:
• George Washington National Forest, Virginia
• Monongahela National Forest, West Virginia

🚗 What actually happened:
On January 10, 2026, Chris’s red Ford F-250 was found abandoned on a beach in Buxton, North Carolina.

❗ No Chris
❗ No dog (Zoey)
❗ No explanation

That location is over six hours away in the opposite direction of where he told his family he was headed.

⚠️ Why this matters:
• Multiple states involved
• Federal land jurisdiction
• Active search using infrared drones
• Missing person and missing dog
• Unexplained abandoned vehicle

This is not a simple missing persons case.
And it should not fade from anyone’s timeline.

Law enforcement and the National Park Service are actively searching, but public awareness is critical.
Someone may have seen Chris.
Someone may have seen Zoey.
Someone may recognize the truck.
One small detail could change everything.
