We loved being part of Valor Christian Academy’s Career Day today! 🎓

Our Director, Lisa Poore, and therapist Terrence James, MFT, had the opportunity to connect with students and share about careers in counseling and mental health. They talked about what it looks like to walk alongside people through challenges, support healing, and help individuals and families grow stronger.

It was encouraging to meet so many thoughtful students who are already exploring how they might use their future careers to help others.

Thank you to Valor Christian Academy for inviting Paraclete Counseling Center to be part of such a meaningful day!

Connection isn’t optional—it’s part of how God created us.

From the very beginning, we were designed for relationship. To be known. To be understood. To belong. Our children carry that same need. Beneath behaviors, big emotions, or quiet withdrawal is often a simple longing: “Do you see me? Do I matter to you?”

When connection is strong, correction becomes easier.
When safety is present, conversations go deeper.
When children feel known, they’re more willing to open up.

At Building Stronger Families, we’ll explore how God’s design for connection shapes the way we parent—and how small, intentional conversations can strengthen trust at home. We’ll share practical, meaningful questions you can use to help your child feel heard and valued, while keeping Christ at the center of your family relationships.

You don’t have to be a perfect parent to build a connected family. You just need tools, awareness, and a willingness to grow.

Healthy families aren’t built on perfection—they’re built on connection, safety, and repair.

Every parent has moments they wish they could redo. Every family experiences misunderstandings, big emotions, or conversations that don’t go the way they hoped. What strengthens a family isn’t getting it right every time—it’s creating space to reconnect, to listen, and to repair when things feel strained.

At Building Stronger Families, our counselors will walk through practical ways to strengthen communication and nurture Christ-centered relationships with your kids—no matter their age. We’ll talk about why connection matters, how God designed us for relationship, and share simple, meaningful questions you can begin using right away to help your child feel seen, heard, and valued.

This is a space for encouragement, not pressure. For growth, not guilt.

Come learn, reflect, and grow with us on March 25 @ Peachtree Corners Baptist Church.

Trauma isn’t just the story of what happened—it’s how your mind and body learned to survive it.

Sometimes, even when the danger is over, your body still remembers. Trouble sleeping, racing heartbeat, sweating, feeling on edge, or wanting to withdraw from others—these are not “overreactions.” They’re signs your nervous system is still trying to keep you safe.

Healing is possible. Through gentle, trauma-informed therapy, your body can learn that safety is real again.
You don’t have to walk through it alone. 🌿

“It’s due TOMORROW?!” — every parent’s least favorite words.

When your child forgets a project until the last minute, it’s easy to assume they’re being careless. But often, it’s not about attitude — it’s about time blindness.

🧠 Many kids (especially those with ADHD or executive function challenges) struggle to feel the passage of time. Deadlines don’t seem urgent until they’re right on top of them.

The good news? Time management is a learnable skill. With the right tools and guidance, your child can:

- Break big tasks into smaller steps
- Track time visually
- Build confidence through progress

With gentle structure, visual tools, and encouragement, kids can learn to plan ahead and feel more confident.

🌿 If this feels familiar, take heart — you’re not failing as a parent, and your child isn’t failing either.
Sometimes they just need a little extra support as they grow these skills.
